Default Going to Disney World soon? If so, read this...

Ok I just finished editing all my Disney Photo Pass pictures that the Disney photographers took and ordered my CD today. When I finished my order it told me that the price of the CD is going up $20 on June 16th....so if you're going really soon...you might want to prebuy your CD.

The regular price was $129...I prebought and got it for $99 (plus shipping)... but it's going up to $149.

http://www.disneyphotopass.com/photocd.aspx

I love the special effects they put on my pictures!! Tinkerbell, Simba, Stitch, Minnie Mouse...plus all the borders you can choose from.

Dang, $150? I thought the $99 was crazy. Maybe I was just unlucky but I was really unimpressed with the quality of the photos. I was glad we didn't pre-pay for them.

I really liked ours...now I have disney borders on my photos which will make the Disney Inspired kits...really like a Disney kit. Plus I got to be in the pictures...which of all that I took...I wasn't in any of them. Since it was our 25th Anniversary...I wanted to be in the pictures too! 8-)

Well that's true about being in the photos, that's why we had the pictures taken too. I think I just didn't like that they used fill flash on all of them, they were like oddly washed out because of it, haha.

I did discover that if I had my camera out, they'd usually offer to take pictures with it too and those came out a lot better and I didn't have to pay for them. But it probably depends on the photographers you get too, some seemed to know more than others.

Wow, I'm surprised they're allowed to take photos with the visitors' cameras and that they don't get into trouble for doing it!!!! Or maybe they would if they were caught?

I've had friends that prebought their CDs and found they 'expired' because they bought them a couple months in advance. So be sure to check out how quickly your prepurchase expires! I wouldn't want anyone burnt by that!

And the photopass photographers are completely allowed to take pics with visitor's cameras. It's part of the Disney spirit!

It's widely known that they do this...it's on at least 2 different Disney forums that I was on. In fact about 1/2 the photographers offered to take with my camera as well.

Here it is:

http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx#

Read the fine print on that page...I just waited until the week before to purchase. The clock on my pictures started when the FIRST picture was taken...I got an e-mail from them once I tied the pictures to my account...that the pictures expired 30 days after the first picture was taken.

My expiration was set for tomorrow...just barely got them edited in time (but I came home sick and things came up so didn't start on them immediately). I had 1,373 pictures with borders once I saved them with different borders and cropped pictures differently. No I won't scrap them all...but hopefully I will have it saved in the way I want to scrap them by doing this.

I don't know but I never asked them to do it, they always just offered. The first time it happened I was really surprised because I thought the same thing as you, but I figured they wouldn't have offered if that was the case.

It would not be in the Disney spirit to say no to their guests for something like that. I worked for Disney for awhile. They really are good about being helpful 99% of the time.

I just wanted to chime in and say that any of the photogs doing the PhotoPass stuff will take pics with your personal camera for you so you don't have to pay for the PhotoPass cd. We somehow got a PhotoPass when visiting the princesses and I was curious about the quality so I viewed them online. Come to find out they took the EXACT same photos that I did so I honestly would've felt like it was a waste of money.

I really like all the borders and such you can do with the pictures the photographers take... now if *real Disney* kits were available for purchase in the digital world...then I probably wouldn't do this and just ask them to take with my camera...but since they aren't...this worked out for me. Plus...that pic of Minnie Mouse and my dh blowing her a kiss was just so cute...and the one with Stitch eating an ice cream cone...and the look on my son's face was so worth it. lol There is another with Stitch coming out of the pavement. I just love the fun of these pictures!

I had the absolute best vacation I have ever taken in my life...just one month ago. Disney made it a truly magical time for our family...and for our 25th anniversary. Staying on Disney property was worth the money...soooo many benefits!

I too had a dream vacation at the World about a month and a half ago. Also got the prepaid CD. It was a lot of money for me but I am still so glad I got it. It allowed me to be in the pictures.

Also, the photographers really can vary in skill. I knew I wanted some good photos (especially since I had paid so much $$). So I took out that PhotoPass card a lot. One time we could just tell that we weren't going to like the photos that had been taken so we took a few steps to the next photographer and had them redone. Much better. I also knew I wanted a good one of us in front of Cinderella's castle so we had that one done by a few photographers. (Just a hint because some of the photos turned out great, some I could easily delete).

Also, if anyone is going you can ask for something called "Magic Shots" where some photographers are set up to do the fun shots like Sharon Kay discussed where Stitch is coming through the pavement and many more. These you can only get if you get Disney's photos.

I would definitely recommend the photo cd. I just considered it our main souvenir expense and tried to limit most other souvenirs. Plus, the charge is the same no matter how many photos you have.

I emailed them and they told me you can only buy it 10 days in advance. I hope it doesn't go up before September.

I got my order on Friday...it was 4 CDs worth of photos... 1,373 with all the border editing...one photo was corrupted...but there was another copied saved at another size so we were ok. No extra charge for 2 DVD cases (that hold 2 CDs each). I am really loving these pictures...they look so much better than they did online!

We just got back from Disneyland (like *just* less than 2 hours ago). There is no preorder for DL photopass, but the price is only $59. I knew I didn't want any of the borders/signatures because I did that on our 2007 Photopass CD and hate those photos. They're just too cheesy for me. Yesterday evening, we just walked over to California Adventure and had them burn me a CD. It saved us the $7 shipping/handling. I had 52 photos on our photopass, and the lady burning my CD told me that was more than they usually get at the Disneyland resort. Photopass also has a pay-per-download option and I thought about doing that, but it's $15 to download one photo and I had 4 great photos I wanted to download -- that's $60, so we just went ahead and got the whole CD. The rest of the photos are pretty mediocre, but hey, I'm in them and that's a bonus.

Wow you must have missed us!! 2 hours and back at Sweet Shoppe!

Well it's prob the only trip to WDW the boys will ever go to...and I like cutesy scrapping so it was perfect for me...plus I saved the pictures without borders too. That is a lot of photos on there for just Disneyland...I'd love to see what your photos are like...if they are the same kind of thing or different.

Hey...is there still a submarine underwater you can go into? I faintly remember something about that...dad took ONE PICTURE and it was of a sub when we went to Disneyland back in 1968-1969. No pics of the family or anything else...just a submarine...I'm pretty sure it was at Disneyworld...Mom remembers it being there too.

Yes, DisneyLAND did have those old submarines! I grew up in Cali and it was always one of my must-sees when we went. We left Cali in the early 80s and when I went back in 2002 to Disneyland I was really disappointed to see the old sub ride was gone. I guess there is a new version now though! Here is some wiki info on the history of the sub ride: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finding...bmarine_Voyage

Yes, the sub ride is back up and running as a Finding Nemo sub. We did it first thing one morning. Sharon, I'll send you a link to our photos.

WDW used to have them. It was a 20,000 leagues under the sea "ride", complete with an audioanimatronic squid at the end. Was one of my favorites when I was younger.

I vaguely remember this from 1968-69 at Disneyland...but don't remember it once I went to WDW in 1984...but I was on my "honeymoon" and so much of it is a blur. lol

I really enjoyed that ride when we went in '83. I think it was gone when I went back in '89.
Now to save up the big bucks so that we can visit before Rachel graduates HS!
