Question Has anyone taken this photo editing class?

I'm curious if anyone has taken this photo editing class? What can you tell me about it? Knowing what you know now...would you hesitate to pay the $40 for the class?
http://www.jessicasprague.com/index....mart&Itemid=85

Photo Editing: Good-to-Great Workflow

...I signed up for her FREE class

Photo Editing Frame Ups and Special Effects
http://spraguelab.squarespace.com/

...but it recommends taking the other class first...

Thoughts? That's a lot of money it seems to me...just wondering if you took it and if you thought it REALLY helped you edit your photos better. ...fyi I am NOT apt to change photos to black & white or sepia...if I want them that way...I take them that way to begin with. I'm just looking for a way to enhance photos with either under or overdeveloped processing...

Thanks!

Hopefully someone here can give some feedback on that specific class...

I haven't taken that class, but I have taken a couple of her other classes (photography) and they are SO worth every penny. The lessons are very in-depth, there are forums for each class to use, and your lessons stay up forever so that you can refer back.

I want to take the class....maybe soon. I'm pretty good at doing some editing, but there are other things I don't know and I'm sure it would be worth every penny!!

I'm glad to hear that others have had good experiences, because I just signed up for it earlier this morning. I can't wait to get started.

Sharon, do you know how to do those things that are in her photo editing class. They won't be needed for her free class, but she is just recommending them. I know how to do a lot of it, but i'm going to take it some time just to freshen up on things and I know she'll teach me a lot I don't know.

If you don't know how to do them though....sometime it would be really worth the money to take the class....but you won't need it right now!

I took it this past spring and I LOVED it!!! So worth the $ and my editing skills have improved immensely since taking it. I thought I knew how to improve my pictures in PS but after the first day of the class they were already looking night and day different. I think that $40 is completely worth it! I'm looking forward to the free follow-up class.

I just signed up for the Oh Shoot! summer session too and now I can't wait for next week!

Ok, so after reading this thread, I decided to take the class...I just finished the first lesson. I will tell you, the first lesson alone was worth the $$. I was able to learn how to edit the photo in a quick, sequential manner, which didn't rely on my eyes (which is great since I am so hopelessly color blind). After the first lesson, I was able to edit my pix in a few short steps. Rumor has it that lesson two is life changing...take the class...it will be worth it for all those Disney photos!

Oh pooh...went to sign up and it went up to $49! I'll wait a couple of days in hopes she puts them on sale for 4th of July? One can hope!

Thanks for the recommendation!

I just finished that class last night - I loved it too!! Learning RAW was so interesting! What I love is that you can go back FOREVER to refresh yourself. Can't wait for the new class to start! I'm going to have to go look up the "shoot" class now.

I tried shooting in RAW one basketball game...yikes it took up MAJOR space...had to switch back to JPG rather quickly.

I'll put some before and afters together later on...thanks!

What's great, is the class shows you how to take your JPEGs and edit them in Adobe Camera Raw...it's pretty neat.

I kind of doubt she'll put them on sale since she just had a big sale. But I also just bought the class (after the sale) and have to say it was worth it. I thought my photos looked good before, I thought I knew what I was doing... but after this class, WOW my photos look much better. I am amazed at my befores & afters too! Worth the money in my opinion.

Well I heard back...they are not planning on another sale on the photo classes for at least a couple of months. Bummer. Guess I will have to buck up and buy it since you all are raving so much on it.

Well...mine ended up just above $1,100 ... they replaced the struts in the front of the van...and brakes... the "parts" were covered by the parts company even though they were out of warranty (13 months old).

Well dh and I drove the van on Thursday and the steering wheel started squeaking...more we drove the more it started squeaking (different sound than before that was a more deep sound)...well drove it back to the shop and they could hear it. Just on the driver's side. They took it apart...put it together...the owner didn't like the sound of it...took it apart again and changed parts again and put it back together...didn't like it still...so he called someone higher up in the parts company and requested a "one piece strut" which he said was higher priced...but because of all the troubles...they are providing the parts to us. ...so we borrowed the owner's pick up truck for the weekend...which worked out for us because dh had to go to Lowes and pick up wall board, 2x4's, and a door.

Still waiting on the call to say my van is ready...hoping ALL of this is covered under the previous charge!!

Did they do anything with kinda blurry pics? I just scanned the negatives of my son in the District Spelling Bee from 1999....oh my gosh they are blurry...I need to see if there is any way to make them even a wee bit clearer!

Mine was $1,100...I win!!

Luckily I got mine back last night...no more charges...and I ended up with a 1 piece "strut" on both front wheels...which is a more expensive part...but the other type wasn't working and the parts company gave it to the garage because of the troubles.

Now this is what I need to learn! DH bought me a new camera and I've been shooting in RAW, but have no idea how to use Adobe Camera RAW

So far the class is pretty basic for us digital scrapbookers (well seasoned ones anyway), but I have learned that I need CS4! LOL of course it can't be "free"!!! Poor DH!

I'm taking the free class right now, but am going to take the Photo Editing class too. I want to do a senior photo shoot with my son (he'll have other photos taken professionally, too, but I want to do some myself to save some money) and I figure $50 is well worth it.

I have taken most every class Jessica offers and they are all worth every penny...and your lessons are available to you forever, so you can always refer back to them. HIGHLY recommended!

Welcome to SSD Stephanie...I see you are brand new to us here! I'm so glad you stopped in to tell us your experience!

I have some photos that are OVER exposed or are blurry...which class would deal best with those pictures? Do you know?

I'm currently doing the Good to Great Workflow class and LOVE it! I can't believe that there's so much I didn't know about PSE and I'm learning so much. I think it's definetly worth the money. IMO, I don't think you need to take that class to do the frame ups and special effect class. The videos are very detailed and easy to understand.

Ok for those that have taken several classes....which class would be the best one to take to help me with over-exposed, under-exposed, and blurry pics (that need some adjustment)...???

I just looked and got $102 in my paypal account this morning from a friend that is selling my rubber stamps on ebay!

I'm taking the photo editing one now, and really have enjoyed it. It does provide some good tips on optimizing exposure and sharpening. I really like that I can keep referring back to the lessons as needed. I'll have to start saving my pennies for the Oh Shoot class - I've heard it's great, too!

Sharon, I think the Good to Great Workflow class would help you in understanding how to fix over/under exposed pictures. Part of the class deals with that very thing using Adobe Camera Raw.

I'm not as impressed with the free class yet. If you've been scrapping for very long you'll probably know most of what she talks about - at least in the first two lessons anyway. But for someone just learning PS, it would be a great help.

Yeah so far I know the free class stuff...except that I learned a shortcut yesterday...but I could have pulled the card out of the PS book and figured it out I bet. lol

I am going to have to sign up! I've got some pictures I'm really hoping to be able to enhance them enough to be able to use them...those "one time" type of shots. Thanks!

I agree, the free class is so far covering things a seasoned digi scrapbooker already knows, but for free, I'll play along and maybe learn something new as the two weeks progress. I just upgraded to CS4 from CS2, so as I go through the lessons, I may learn some differences between the two programs.
