Default Canadians - Internet?

I'm curious about who you Canadians all go with for internet service?

I have wireless internet from a company called Platinum Communications, and it's awesome - I've got a 3 year contract with them. But, I may be moving and it's not available in towns (it's rural only)...so I'd have to change providers and internet service.

I think my options are ADSL through Telus (which I don't really want to do, because I think I'm going to not get a land line) or through companies like Shaw or Rogers. Actually not even sure Rogers will be available, lol.

Anyway, wondering what you use and what you think of it?

I use Telus right now, have used both Telus & Shaw in the past.

I haven't had any issues with Telus, but we have a bundle - internet, home phone and cell phone, so we get a bundle deal.

If you are going with Shaw for TV, and not doing a land line, I would say go for Shaw, because you can bundle it like Telus does.

I found in our area, Shaw would go down for no reason what so ever. Telus is almost always on, less down time since we switched.

I'm *hoping* to keep satellite for TV (Bell)...but not sure if I can or not yet. And they don't have internet or phone in the area. Which SUCKS because I have my cell through them, lol.

Seriously I'm wondering if maybe one of those internet sticks would be the way to go, lmao...

I use Shaw for our internet, phone and cable. I'm pretty happy with them. The firm I worked for used Telus and we constantly had downtime so I swore never to use Telus for our internet connection at home.

I use Primus, that advertises at Costco - you can get flyers there. They are only available in cities, though. It's ADSL and there is no upload/download limit, which was really important for us.

I've used Shaw for at least the last 9 years - very few problems, good customer service (except one person who I reported to his superviser). We bundle with digital cable, etc. so it is reasonable.

Used to use Bell for phone, cell & internet, then we moved and they don't have high speed on our street so we went with Eastlink for our phone & internet and Rogers for our cell.

We have Bell, for DSL, phone, cell and satellite. We have always had great service from them.

I had Telus ADSL for years and never really had any problems. Their service was definitely spotty at best in recent years though. When Shaw came out with the home phone service we switched to a bundle with them and I have to say I've been very pleased. They just gave us a speed bump a while back and it's really noticeable. Not all shops have fast enough servers to take full advantage of it, but the ones that do... WOWZERS! Stuff downloads before I can blink practically!

We used to have Bell satellite for our TV, but we got so sick of downtime when the weather was bad. So when Shaw started putting together really good bundles that included phone, internet and TV, we jumped on it.

We have gone with Teksavvy for our phone and internet. Best deal ANYWHERE. They are local for us (out of Chatham, ON) and we were SO sick of being jerked around by Bell and Rogers (our only real options) until my husband discovered TekSavvy!

We still have Bell satelite for our tv, but only because we hate the Rogers tv service more... and we have a PVR with them which we like. We're considering starchoice...

We have a PVR too for Bell, I love that thing!!

I looked up StarChoice yesterday, and found out that they've been bought out by Shaw, so now it's Shaw Direct or something like that. Same thing, just a different name, I guess.

we haven't had Shaw here (in Ontario) as a major provider. Hmm... I'll have to look into that more before we switch! Although most days I really wish we had the courage to just stop paying for tv. I have two preschoolers though, and I think I would go nuts without a LITTLE tv time!
