final cvs results are in...
...and the results are complicated. Not good, not bad, just complicated. Seriously, everything that could go wrong with everything this pregnancy has gone wrong. So when they sample the placenta, mom's dna is mixed in there. They try to get rid of mom's dna before culturing it for the final results. However, sometimes mom's dna sneaks in there and throws everything off. So our results came back and we are having a normal girl and a normal boy. Since we're not having twins, that's not a very clear result. The doctor said that MOST likely its my dna mixed in there. But that sometimes baby's can carry two strands of dna.(I don't even want to know what it might mean if the baby has boy AND girl dna). So they can't 100% say for certain that the baby is normal. Most likely yes, but not 100%. So he recommended that I have an amnio(as the chance of sample contamination is small). But I will likely have to wait 2 more weeks before I can have that done. And then obviously the 1.5 week wait time for final results. We have an u/s tomorrow to get a clearer look at the baby and any issues he might have. And then an appt with the genetics counselor(which after this test result I am really not looking forward to). I'm ready to have answers and move on with a gameplan. This whole, things might be bad, things might be ok, really sucks! I know God has a plan, and I'm thinking its to trust in him and learn to be patient. But I wished he'd try to teach the whole patience thing by making a package delivery late or something...You know, something a little less life altering. lol
