Default Vampire Diaries

What is everyone whos watched it thinking about it so far? I have not read the books but I am loving the tv show. Not sure if I want to read them now though cause I tend to like the books better. Also is it just me or did they cast Stefan to look an awful lot like Edward Cullen? I think Im kinda more drawn towards Damon. Not sure why cause his character is kinda a jerk but he is just so dang cute LOL

I don't think it's anything like Twilight, besides a human girl falls for a handsome young vampire. I haven't read the books but am going to soon! So far I'm liking the show.

Well not so much the storyline but the way the guy looks that plays Stefan Salvatore to me he looks alot like Robert Pattinson.

I just watched it for the first time last night. I haven't read the books, but now I am kinda interested. I will watch it again for awhile, to see if it stays good. The vamp out was fun to watch...the rest seemed like a regular CW show.

I adore the series so far but I was a hard core Vampire Diaries book reader as a tween (I wasn't even a teenager when they came out and I read them originally LOL). The show is h-o-t-t HOT and for those of you expecting that out of the books, don't. They are muy PG. But the books are great. Anyway, my main complaint with the show is that everyone keeps comparing it to Twilight. I love both series(es?) but Vampire Diaries came first, by a LONG shot. LJ Smith was writing this series while Stephenie Meyer wasn't even out of high school

Well the only real similarities to me I guess is that he doesnt use human blood. Like I said it just seems like whoever was responsible for casting made the main character look an awful lot like Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson....to me anyhow. I love them both but with Vampire Diaries I can get my vampire fix weekly LOL. So since I have not read the books what is up with the vampires not being allowed to go into a home unless invited and why did Damon insist that that girl keep the scarf on her neck? Did he bite her?

I think this might be one of the my favorite new shows. It's kind of like a toned-down True Blood which is awesome. I totally don't see any resemblance to Robert Pattinson but maybe that's just because I'm not a Twilight fan so I don't think he's hot at all, haha. Stefan is definitely hot.

I believe a vampire has to be invited into a human's house before they can enter. At least that's what they said in True Blood and I'm assuming it's the same. And yes, Damon bit her, they showed it at the end of the first episode and then I think again in the 2nd. I'm pretty sure the reason she said she couldn't take the scarf off was because he told her she couldn't, using his whole mind-power thing.

I must have missed the part of him biting her. I kinda figured it was the mind power thing though. I have never heard of True Blood. Is that a show or book or both? Oh yea and something else I was wondering about does the vampire bite not turn the humans into vampires on this show?

The series is due to start in the UK in the next few weeks, finally! I am definitely looking forward to seeing it now!

I'm not soooo keen on True Blood - I don't find the main vamp men in it cute at all, and there really is a LOT of ikkyness. Having said that, its kind of addictive in a strange way, but it is the oddest thing I watch on tv.

If the BBC series 'Being Human' makes it to the US, give it a go. Its a story about a ghost, vamp and werewolf sharing a house and trying to be 'normal'.

The VD will start officially here in October, but I'm seeing it on line. I think it's ok. I read an interview w/ the guy who play Damon and he told that Twilight made the path to VD series. So, I assume that VD is inspired by Edward Cullen and his crew.
I read the book 1 (the only book in Portuguese yet...) and I think the book is way better than the TV show - the book is very different. Stefan looks more creepy in the book, more lost... more into the dilemma about drink human blood or not to drink.

True Blood is a show on HBO based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels. As for the whole bite thing, I think there's a difference between just drinking and "turning."

The Vampire Diaries was a series of books written in the early 90s, long before Twilight was written so I think it's more likely Twilight was inspired by some of these other series. But I'm sure the reason they made it into a tv show now is because of the whole Twilight craze, that's probably what the actor was talking about.

I justr watched the first two on my dvr and like them so far... didn't read the books yet (did read all of Twilight and a few Sookie Stackhouse books) but not sure if I'll read the books... if it's a hit at my house I'll go back and read, but I usually like to read the book first! My bad on timing!
