Question HELP! Side dish suggestions?????

So my DD's prek class (4/5 year olds) is having a thanksgiving day feast on Monday.

I need to bring a side....

any suggestions on what i should bring that the kiddos might like?

(i just don't wanna go all boring and dump a can o' corn into a bowl, kwim? but don't want anything too fancy cuz then they won't eat it. kwim?)

thanks in advance!!!

eta: you could leave out the pecans on the topping if needed

We did teriyaki sweet potatoes and they are like candy they're so good, but they aren't sickeningly sweet.

Mashed sweet potatoes
are good, too.

I always make this Potato Casserole minus the green onions for family get-togethers and my kids (and everyone else too cause there's never any leftovers) eat it up! I can't find the Mr. Dells hash brown potatoes around here anymore (Dillon's and Walmart both used to have them though) so I just used the Oreida ones last time and it turned out pretty much the same.

Cheese biscuits are always a hit around here & they are equally good at room temperature so you don't have to worry about keeping them warm

Cranberry Jello Salad. It has frosting. What kid doesn't like frosting?

No, it's not a dessert. It's cranberries!

Cornbread stuffing is a hit around here. No nuts, but there are eggs. And if you have a casserole dish - it will keep hot for a while.

haha we always have Mac-n-Cheese on Thanksgiving at my parents! My Dad's is homemade though (NOT Kraft dinner lol) and it is SO SO yummy, I think it was my Grandma's recipe that was passed down to him but I know he's been making it for as long as I can remember!

You'd probably be very popular with the kids if you brought M&C!

Not really a side dish, but someone brought a dish of chicken nuggets to a class potluck ....and of course, those were gone in like 2 minutes!

they are going to be providing chicken nuggets, so we're all set there.

thank you for the suggestions!

i think i may either do pumpkin dinner rolls (or biscuits) or pumpkin mini muffins or maybe fruit salad or maybe the mac & cheese, cuz you're right, what kid could turn that down?!

totally OT.... my boys were on the Swim Team earlier this year and before their first meet of the season we did a huge pasta potluck.... okay 1. my boys are SO effen picky so i specifically brought mac n cheese cuz i KNEW they wouldn't eat any of the other pasta's w/ sauce...... so swim team is made up of kids 5 years old up through High School.... so while the younger kids had their practice, they STARTED the dinner for the older kids who had just finished their practice....

guess what there was NONE of when my kids went to eat..........

not only NO mac n cheese, but hardly ANY food left... how STUPID to let them eat first, am i right?!!?

uh... rant over... but just wanted you to know the power of the M&C!

If you ever need another side or a salad to take to a potluck... this is a winner. My mom makes this for every family gathering and my father-in-law will sit and eat the whole thing...
