Default Need a yummy dessert...asap. :)

Okay, so I am going grocery shopping in about 3 hours. We're cooking Christmas dinner for my parents & I can't figure out a dessert! Daddy doesn't like fruit. And, I didn't really want the traditional pumpkin & pecan pies, b/c Mama will make already be making those. Oh, and I'm very allergic to coconut. So, other than coconut & fruit, show me what you've got!

I agree with the peanut butter pie idea. My favorite recipe is this one:

Husband's Delight

Crust:
1 c. plain flour
1 stick butter
1 c. chopped pecans
tbsp sugar

Middle layer:
8 oz cream cheese
1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 lg container cool whip (save other half for topping)
tsp vanilla

Chocolate layer:
1 large pkg. instant choc. pudding
1 1/3 c. milk

For crust: Melt butter and mix with dry ingredients til a crumbly dough forms..press into bottom of greased 13x9 inch pan...it will be thin. Bake at 350 for about 6-10 minutes..until browned.

For first layer: Mix cream cheese and cool whip with mixer til smooth..add powdered sugar a little at a time until smooth and then add vanilla

For choc. layer: mix pudding and milk together until smooth..it will be thick

once crust is cooled spread cream cheese layer on top, followed by chocolate layer...top it all off with remaining cool whip and a few scattered chopped pecans

There is never a bite of this left anywhere I take it
