This is what we used to get it off ours, Cori.

I'm pretty sure mine came from 4shared.

Well, i think DH fixed it. he went and did the system restore for a few days back. so far so good. he said if that didnt work then he'd have to completey reboot the computer. i had my fingers crossed! now i'm off the comcast site to download the new Norton antivirus they're offering. yay! no more virus! so glad my dh is computer savvy, lol. whatever it was, it was attached to my old Mcafee antivirus. it kept offering me some other program to get rid of the viruses and it wouldn't let me uninstal Mcafee or install the new one. wierd......

Corey -

It wasn't attached to your antivirus program..it gets into your computer and uses it to make you think it's legit. It's not. We tried the system restore, and it didn't work. Try those directions...it worked like a charm and we saved everything.

Ugh, those things are terrible cause people who don't know a thing about computers fall for them all the time.

i know better, lol. but it was frustrating cause every time DH would try something else the popups would prevent it. so the restore worked but now i'm running that scan thingy to get rid of them for good. it's been running for an hour and 24 minutes so far and its not done yet. and its found 182 things infected!
