Default went for a drive today

And we came across a house for sale. It way way out of our price range but it is soooo pretty!! My dream house. It is right across from the Indian River with a beautiful veiw, nice gardens, big front yard and FOUR bedrooms!!

It is a registered as a historical house and the whole neighborhood is really beautiful. If we had a ton of money to spend I would buy a house there. To be honest you do not see alot of places there for sale or if they are they arent for long. IDK I mean I love (soemtimes) living in the country and being able to have animals (rabbits and chickens and sheep type animals) we would never be able to do that in a place like that but then it is just sooo pretty!!

wow! Love the crazy windows in that one bedroom! I can't believe the price!! Here in Portland Oregon that house would be at least 1 Million.

this is just one example that I just found quickly. And it isn't even near the water although it's a bit bigger. The water would add a lot more money to the price. And it's not as nice inside as the one you showed. The prices are CRAZY here and that is still true even after the economic turn down. Prices on houses went up horribly in the last 10 years here.

Wow Julie that is alot of money!!

the water is directly across the street from where that house is. It has its own private dock even. We go down there alot during christmas because they decorate so beautifully so I have been kinda drooling over these houses for years now. Rarely have I ever seen any of them for sale. This one looking at the tax records looks like it has been owned by the same person since 1995. That could just be as far back as the tax records online go though.

WOW... it's such a beautiful house! Though I'm not liking some of the rooms' interiors, it's still very pretty!
I'd love to have a house like that

there are some things I would change too but I think that is true of alot of homes. For the most part though it is pretty much my style. What I really loved is the location, being a river front homeso my husband and sons could go fishing every single day and the exterior. The back and front yard really are beautiful and the veiw is amazing. If the shuttle was not being discontinued in a few months you are probably a mile or 2 from the launch pad from this house you would have an amazing veiw of any launches being made at the space center.

I agree about the location. I can really view myself walking down the river in the afternoon when the weather is great. Oh my... You get me daydreaming of that kind of house now, which will be quite impossible when DH and I move to Beijing, unless we have all the money in the world
But, hey, a girl can dream, right?

that would easy go for a million here. Possibly more, since its right on the water. We paid 320,000 for our house, that is 3 beds, 20 years old and needs a new kitchen/bathroom. And we're 1.5hours from the city, and about the same from the coast. The closer in you go, the more you pay. Sydney real estate sucks.

We arent to far from the ocean depending on which coast you go to LOL. West coast Florida is a good 90 minutes to 2 hours at least. We dont go there often. East Coast Florida in good traffic is usually no more then 15-30 minutes from our house. So we are really close to the beach....or in this case the river.

My first though was I wouldnt want to pay for custom blinds for those cooky windows, LOL!!!

Not my style, seems like a nice house. I couldnt imagine living on less than .50 acre. We have 15 now, previous to this we had 108 acres. And nearly 1/2 mil for that house with no land seems crazy high to me - but I'm in rural Texas...so that might be why, LOL....

My husband and I own an acre of land actually. I love having a little more land. I love being able to have animals on the land and Id miss that if I bought a place like that but it is a dream you know. Its beautiful to me. Some people might not see it as beautiful which is ok. I see houses all over that I would love to own. Some on the beach, some on the riverfront, some on lakes or up in the mountains. What I think they all have in common is the natural beauty that surrounds them and since I love going camping/hiking out in the woods as much as I like being at the beach I would be happy living in the middle of the woods or on the water. The one thing I know I would miss without a doubt if we did not have as much land as we do is being able to have animals like sheep, ducks, chickens, rabbits and horses. We have have had or do have all of these but the horses. I plan on buying a horse later on down the road. So of course owning a home like that is not feasible but I can dream I guess. Maybe if I win the lottery I can have both LOL

Aww that is a lovely house. Now don't take this the wrong way but it looks perfectly American It's just the way I imagine an American house would look (I've never been by the way). I followed the link that Julie had put on and spotted my pefect home - wonder if I could have it shipped over here to England?

Oooh, I agree, that IS the perfect home. And right in my city! We currently live in a newer townhome (and love it!), but really want to move into a house just like this one day in the future. It's not too big, and has so much charm. Love it!

I think it is an older woman who owns it Mari. And probably wants the colors to be neutral looking to make it more appealing and to look more uniform. I personally like most of the rooms although think they could use a little more color(but nothing drastic like red or purple or something like that LOL) and maybe some more decorations/photos.
