I have a scottish terrier and I'm really picky about her grooming, can never find someone to do it right, so I do it myself. I've been using a set of Wahl clippers but they're starting to bug me. I want a really close cut on her head but when I take the guards off it just doesn't work. I'm wondering if there is a higher-end set of clippers that work better?

I use Oster A-5 clippers. If you do the same cuts over and over and groom often, it's probably worth the investment. You'd need a 40 or 50 blade to use with guards and probably an 8 or 10 blade to get the close crop you're looking for on her head.

I dont but I want to! I have a schnauzer who hates the groomers and well I just hate paying for it lol.
Let me know how you make out I've been thinking of buying a good set myself. |

Oh, thanks so much! I really didn't know if anyone was going to have input. I don't know anyone else who grooms their dog. I got so tired of paying $50 plus to have her groomed every 3 months and 1/2 the time being totally unhappy with the result. I love grooming both of them. I put the Oster in my Amazon cart and I'm loving the Groomers Mall page. Thanks girls!

I've groomed my own Shi tuz, but wasn't happy with it. Also wasn't happy how the groomer was doing it. Now being in Korea, they know how to properly do it! Wish I could take my groomer with us!
