Default Are there any software programs besides PS that will open PSDs?

I tried Photoshop Elements 8 for a few weeks and it frustrated me to no end. I have been using Memory Mixer for creating LOs and I love it, except for the fact that I cannot work with PSD files.

Are there any other programs besides Photoshop that will allow you to open/work with these type files? (TIA)!

I don't know about any other programs that will work. I just wanted to jump in here and say that I use PSE8 and would GLADLY help you if needed. It is a little bit of a learning curve but once you get it, it can do amazing things. When I started in PSE 6 I ended up spending money on a tutorial set. It was worth every penny and stopped my insanity. If you are interested in a link, I will share.

You should try to find some tutorials or online classes to take to learn PSE- if you have a program already its a shame to buy another one. Its a fabulous program and many people use it and are willing to help out if you have questions!

Thanks everyone. Tara, I would love a link (thank you)! I may just end up having to teach myself Photoshop, as I love all the templates out there...they make my scrapping so much easier! I appreciate the offers of help too; I may have to take you all up on that!

Here is the link. I really don't like much at this shop other than these tutorials. But purchasing these tutorials did save my sanity and taught me some tricks of the trade. Others just came once I knew the basics.

Tutorials

I hope it helps.

If you end up deciding to give PSE8 more time, I have two tutorials on my blog that might help.

Creating Your First Page in PSE and Using Layered Templates in PSE should get you started.

If you are trying to figure something out and need help, let me know. I just might be able to write up a tutorial for you as I'm sure others out there have the same question.
