I feel kinda bad for this...
Ive been looking for a job for awhile and was up last night looking online at a site that posts here in Florida and found an ad from my husbands old employer. Well his good friend still works there and the job listed is HIS job
  So I told my husband and he called his friend to see where he was working now thinking he had finally found a new job and quit working there because he was talking about it for years now. Only he didn't quit and he is still working there AND HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE AD!! So needless to say he is pretty upset because it appears that his boss is fixing to replace him without letting him know.

yea we didnt want to start any issues with them but I really feel bad about it. His friend is kinda mad right now because he does basically everything in the shop and his boss is basically going behind his back to replace him. Its a small body shop so there is no way they need two people doing the same exact job

Seems to be an epidemic these days! The issue from Friday with my boyfriend being laid off is a similar situation only they are filling the jobs in another country! Basically the work is still there, they just don't want to pay as much for the work to be done! ugh! Anyway, it's a shame that there is no loyalty in jobs anymore. I remember my whole family worked for the telephone company when I was young and you stayed there forever because they were union, had good pay, good benefits....not so much for this era. It's so pathetic anymore!

yep...exactly debbie. Hopefully he wont find someone or maybe my husbands friend will take this as the initiative to get out there and find something else if he can.

my husband talked to his friend and his boss said he is just looking for someone to freelance and find work that is outside of the shop (right now they mostly just do rentals and rentals are not giving them much work right now). Hopefully he is telling him the truth...it would not surprise me with the way that he was when my husband worked there that he isnt doing what we were thinking.

oh that is disgusting! Can't even give a person a heads up... but if they can find it done, cheaper that is what a company is going to do. I truly hope your friend will find a better job that will respect him and his work...

It is always hard to be the bearer --or recipient-- of bad news, but man, I think in this case, I would totally want to know! That is really awful. How is your friend doing?
