Default Holiday Season Teary-ness?

I know I'm going to sound like a total wuss, but come December 1st, every single year, I get all nostalgic and weepy over everything and it usually carries right through the entire month.

Christmas music - teary.

Decorating the tree - totally sappy.

Ran into one of my daughter's teachers in the grocery store check-out tonight, she asks me how she's doing and says how much she misses her. I get all teary telling her about her latest accomplishments.

Does this happen to anyone else over the holidays. I can't really explain it.

I hate december.

I know it's a big silly that la is super grumpy scrooge.. ^_^ but december is just a big emo mess ball for me. long story short, I still have major stupid guilt over ce's birth etc.. He was born the 19th- and came home from the hospital christmas day.. so every year.... I get grumpy and don't at all get into the holiday spirit.. till like, after christmas. LOL.. I'm trying more this year. Ce is turning 7..it's time to suck it up and move on.

So yes in short. I get emo.

I totally turn into a weepy mess. All the Hallmark commercials and stuff just make me wanna bawl. Certain carols bring tears to my eyes. And all the holiday ooey gooey movies? yeah...cry-fest. And yes, The Christmas Shoes makes me cry. Every. Time.

What the Christmas shoes?

Sounds like a good cry!

This month, for whatever reason, I look at everything a little differently. Life & time just seem so much more precious. I look at my kids and how much they're growing. I start to reflect on years past and dream about freezing time. We go to church and I practically bawl through the whole service, for no apparent reason.

Yah you could say I'm emotional.

The Christmas Shoes is a song that was recorded by NewSong and was turned into a short novel and then a TV Movie. Super sad, somewhat cheesy, but one of my "must watch" things in December.

I'm not usually a sappy-song-loving person, but the Christmas Shoes songs wrecks me.

I definitely get more emotional but not exactly teary. And now with these pregnancy hormones raging it makes it worse for me. Something about the cold and snow makes me more emotional. I have no idea why.

I turned on Christmas music the other day and I nearly lost it. I miss the days when Christmas didn't mean leaving. {sob} I just wish I could enjoy the holidays without thinking about how they USED to be.
