Default So unhappy....

So I go outside to take a picture of the boys playing in the snow and my Rebel T1i screen looked really weird when I snapped the picture. It had lines through it. I took it inside hoping it was just cold and let it warm up a bit but it kept doing the same thing. It won't write to the SD card at all.

We bought it at Fry's in Seattle and the process to get it repaired is crazy. They don't usually deal with out-of-state repairs, apparently. (What people don't ever move or buy while traveling?) But at least we bought an extended warranty and it will be taken care of. Probably not before Christmas though.

I'm so sad.

(confession, I was in tears earlier. Stomping around the house. I'm such a drama queen.)

I would defenitely be throwing a huge fit if my camera broke right now. Crying would likely be part of it!! Do you have a backup at all?

I would be stomping around mad too! which is why I have 2 smaller cameras as backup if something ever happened to my Rebel~they are just little Sony Cybershots, but they work in a pinch~hope you get it fixed quickly~

Awww, I'm sorry. I know how you feel though, because I cried 2 weeks ago when my 2yo launched my camera over the bannister. After I went downstairs to pick up the pieces, I just sat and cried. So add me to the drama queen club too.

Can you send it directly to Canon for repairs?

That sucks!! And trust me, your reaction is nothing out of the ordinary!! A few summers ago, my camera took a bath (pretty much literally--I put it down on top of a soft side cooler and it slipped inside to the pool of water inside). Apparently my reaction was so severe that my mother (who was leaving that day to take JP back to his dad) thought one of the boys was hurt. Crying, stomping, screaming, wailing. I was lucky that I was able to retrieve the photos I'd just spent an hour taking--but the camera was toast. Soggy toast.

This is so sad.

All these stories are so sad.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one so emotional over stuff. I think if there was a fire in the house, I would get the kids and the camera.

I probably wouldn't freak if it happened to me (I have a Rebel XT) because DH has an XTi. I would freak if I had pics on it though.

I would throw a huge fit too. Huge. Crying. Fit. You are not alone. Glad you can get it fixed though, and that you'll have something to use for Christmas!

Awwww.... I'm so sorry Janet! That would break my heart too. I guess you're lucky to have a nice camera on your phone. Or nicer than most.... If you need to borrow my camera let me know. But I need it Christmas.

I feel your pain. We dropped one of our lenses to our Rebel EOS and it bounced all along the concrete (LOL-wasn't funny then)! Anyway, now it only works with lighting (won't work at night). Oh well, guess I have to buy a new one after Christmas. Luckily, it's the little lense. It just stinks!
