Default Who Has CS5

and do you have the regular version or extended version? The reason I ask is I dl'd a free trial of CS5 Extended and I really like it and it seems to work just fine for me and the price is about a $300 difference! From what I can gather it is good for digital imaging, which is really what I want it for. So if somebody has a better understanding of these 2 programs {regular CS5 and CS5 Extended} please enlighten me

I have the Extended version (bought it in the Design Premium suite) and I really love it! I'm not sure what the difference is, since I went from CS3 to CS5 extended. Hopefully somone will know and can help you!

I could be mistaken, but I think the "extended" part of CS5 has to do with 3D manipulations. There are probably other things it does, too. What I can tell you is that I used CS3 extended for years for photo manipulation and digital scrapbooking and then switched to CS4 and then CS5 regular editions and there wasn't anything that I used in the extended version of CS3 that I didn't have in the regular versions of CS4 and CS5.

Also, I definitely recommend checking into the student versions of the software. You have kids in school (K-12), don't you? They're the same software, just much less expensive.

yep what ev1 else said Extended has 3d rendering. For scrapping and really even photography I imagine cs5 standard would be sufficient. Look at Academic Superstore though the extended there is rather cheap (under 200 for just Photoshop) and you certainly qualify for that pricing with kiddos in school.

yes Kate and I am a fullt time college student so I am defeinetely getting the student version. And I don't need the design suite with all the extras, just CS5, The student extended version is $189.90 and the CS5 Regular is $290 @ Amazon {so not as much of a difference as I thought, but enough} so I think I am going to go with the extended version just for sake of price and I am going to get LR3 for the student price as well
