Default I may have an addiction?

Today, in the mail, I got:

-All You Magazine
-Disney Family Fun Magazine
-Taste of Home
-Marie Claire
-Working Mother

This sounds bad as it is... getting 5 magazines? Just for me? And then I realized, I also subscribe to:

-Kiwi
-Family Circle
-Women's Day
-Parenting

And honestly, I think in the past few months, I've signed up for 3 or 4 more that haven't started yet.

I do read them, honestly, I do. It's not like I just get them and set them somewhere (unless the day is really busy and then I don't get to them until a month later). But I'm going to say 9 out of every 11 issues I get of a particular magazine, gets read. So I don't feel like I have any that I should be cancelling... I DO read them...
And it's not like my magazine bill is really high, either. I got over half of my subscriptions completely free, and the other half I got for under $3 per year. The ones I paid more than $3 for, I paid less than $5.

So is it bad that I have that many subscriptions?

What magazines do you subscribe to? How many subscriptions do you get in the mail?

I really like cooking magazine, and I get, I think, about 4 of them.

I know my local library loves to get old magazines donated. So, dunno what you do with all those wonderful magazines when you're done, but you may want to keep that in mind!

For the money you paid, I don't think it's bad at all! I only subscribed to Entertainment Weekly to help out one of my daughters friends who was selling them for school. I subscribed to Parents magazine for about 8 years but let it go last fall. If I could get them free or for less than $5 I'd be subscribing to a bunch too!

Well I would have to join you on the magazine addicted bench - I have been addicted to magazines for many years (my mother said I get it from my father). At least you have subscriptions, which it a more affordable addiction. I have some subs but really need to get subs of the mags I've been buying lately at the store.

I get Cooking Light, and that's because it was a gift. I used to get Runners World but let it go since I can get it at the library.

Oh - I'm a HUGE magazine junkie... I used to get up to 20 mags a month... never pay full price, like you the $5-10 ones... Now I'm down - many came up due at the same time and I'm waiting for good deal to come through...

right now I get..
Creating Keepsakes
Scrapbook Etc
Real Simple
Martha Stewart
Parents
Woman's Day
Family Circle
More - that one just showed up
Town and Country - another one that just showed up...

waiting on deals for...
Family Fun
Food network

So - if you have an addiction... that would mean that I'm incurable.

Haha, that makes me feel a little bit better.

As for what I do with them when they're done... I have a few that my friends/family like, so I pass those on to them. The others, I try to keep in a bag to donate, but if I get really far behind, I end up recycling them instead. :/

Yes, I am an addict. I have actually cancelled a couple and still have too many. A friend used to tease me about getting sucked in by the glossy pages. It is true.

I get:

Better Homes & Gardens (I've cancelled it and they keep sending)
Southern Living (I used to be a demonstrator)
Coastal Living (see SL above)
Food Network
Real Simple
Everyday Food
Paper Crafts
Creating Keepsakes
Cooking Light
Cloth Paper Scissors
Somerset Studio
National Geographic
Columbia Journalism Review
The Nation
Food and Wine (on the cancellation list)
Smithsonian

And every few months
Sew Somerset
Artful Blogging
Somerset Workshop
Hi-Fructose (art magazine)

The longer I hang out here, the more I think that I might just have an addictive personality.

Another mag addict here. I think I only paid for 2 or 3 of these subscriptions and they were under $5. The rest were free. I am so far behind in reading them - I have stacks everywhere that I need to just purge! For those looking for really cheap subscriptions, Tanga usually has awesome deals and Amazon occasionally does, as well.

Entertainment Weekly
US
Star
Shape
Wine Enthusiast
Maxim
Taste of Home
Food Network
Rachael Ray
Oprah
Martha Stewart Living
Woman's Day
Redbook
Better Homes & Gardens
Good Housekeeping
Disney Family Fun
Island Living (so funny since I live in Nebraska - no idea why I get this)
Marie Claire
Parents

Don't know what you consider a good deal, but Food Network Mag is 55% today at Magazines.com and Family Fun is 71% off.
