I've never actually started using it...

I just opened it up, and I guess I have people following me, so I see their stuff. Which is cool stuff.

But how does this work? If I "repin", does that mean it goes onto "my" stuff?

If I click the "like" button, is that a pinterest "like" or a facebook "like" (where does my LIKE show up?

Think of it as your own visual bookmark site...and you can look at other people's bookmarks, too, and save them for yourself if you like them, and they can save yours if they like them. Like is sort of the same thing, though it doesn't record more than you 'liked' something instead of saving it into your actual visual bookmarks.

If you pin something, it shows up on the main board for everyone to see, but leaves it in your own personal book so you can find it for future reference. (there may be a way to make your pins private, I haven't bothered to find out). If you can buddy up with folks and find out what they're pinning style-wise when you follow someone. Or you stick to the main board if you want to cruise them. Or..you just keep track of your own as you find stuff across the net and organize it like you like, visiting when you need visual inspiration.

You can re-pin to the specific folders you set-up (so you can set a theme for each folder, books you wanna read, recipes, holiday crafts etc) So, it is kinda like a little scrapbook of your wants, likes, and "to dos" that you have found on the internet.

When you "like" things, they go to a special section called "likes".

For things to show up on facebook, you can set that up in your profile settings I think?

I actually feel kind of silly - I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to "pin" since it's public! It's a lot of pressure, you know - your very first pin?! I'm sure after the first one (or 10 or 20) it gets easier

But I do see the potential (thank you Darcy for the visual bookmark thing)...I need to find some ideas for my daughter's party, this would be a great place to keep track of them.
