Default Paint Color??

Hey girls! I need some help deciding what color to paint the girls bedroom. They are going to be sharing a room, and I want to do it in a Candyland /sweets theme. I'm not sure what I'm doing for bedding quite yet, but I'm wanting the walls to be a pastel color (I think).

Currently the room is "peppermint tea", which is a soft green, but I want to go with a different color. What do you think would be a good color that won't be totally overwhelming? I'm thinking soft yellow or a soft purple.

Here is my Pin Board with room ideas:

Personally, I love lavender/light purple. For a kids room where you know you're doing a candy theme though, I'd only do a feature wall in the purple and leave the rest white. Like this:

Then all the other colours you use (like the multi coloured bookshelf - LOVE that idea) will pop against the white and not feel clashy. The white gives breathing space too. AND, in a few years time when you want to redecorate, it's really only the furnishings/decorations that need changing, not entire wall colour.

I think you'll find plenty of ways to inject colour into the room (pictures, bookshelves, linen, rugs etc) so the white doesn't look stark.

That's true Jacinda! It's a smallish room, so I don't want a bright color (hence the pastels), but I love the idea of a feature wall. I want to do little banners too to brighten up the walls, so white is probably the way to go to keep it looking too busy!

I using that same idea right now for my 12 year old's room. We have a bright color scheme though. Her bedroom set has orange/green/blue/pink stripes and or dots against white. So we painted one wall the orange and then another wall green...the other two are white and I am going to paint circles with the colors left. All the borders will be the blue. I will share pictures if you will..hehe
