If you like mint chocolate chip, these are seriously amaze-balls!

I've also been dying to try these, though I haven't gotten to it yet:

This was the last recipe I tried and they were so good. I didn't have pb chips so I just doubled the milk chocolate ones. Very good..loved the salty/sweet combo with the pretzels.

My great grandma, Granny Scott, died when I was just 6 or 7. One of my few memories of her is going to her house and getting one of these cookies out of her cookie jar. What's neat is that my mom has that same memory from her childhood

I love that these aren't super sweet. They can be iced if you wish...decorated for holidays or special occasions...but my favorite way is to just eat them just as they are

Granny's Tea Cakes
2 c sugar
1 c shortening
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c milk
1/2 t salt
4 tsp baking powder
4 c flour

Cream sugar and shortening together.
Add eggs and vanilla one at a time.
Add milk, flour, baking powder, and salt one half at a time.

Roll dough on heavily floured surface.
Cut with cookie cutter or biscuit cutter; will double in cooking (**never really had an issue with them spreading very much).

Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.

We did these and they were fantastic, didn't really like the caramel in the center though because it just lumped up. And definitely keep a close eye on them, any little bit of overcooked and they are crispy cookies (I like mine softer, but that's just me) They were really yummy crumbled over vanilla ice cream.
