ATG gun/tape
Everyone was raving about the ATG guns awhile back and so I got one. I have been using it about 10 months and I do like it, however, I am not very impressed with the "permanent" claim. I have 135 pencil boxes to make for my son's school and I used this tape and in 2 nights all of my glued sides and flaps were unstuck. I put glue on just one side of a fold and I put glue on both sides of a fold to see if there were any differences and ALL of my boxes have had to be re-pressed down. Last year I used "Crafty power tape" and not one of my boxes need to be redone and I did 150. This year I am having this issue. Any clues?

You might have got a bad roll of tape? Are you sure that you bought the permanent tape and not the repositionable? Did you buy 3M brand or off brand?

I use my ATG for everything and I've never had a problem with stuff not sticking - perhaps you've got a dodgy roll as Celeste says

I only purchase the 3M brand and I have never seen the repositionable kind, but this has happened to me before on paper with a texture on it and I attributed it to that, but the boxes I am making are very smooth 140# bright white paper.

That's interesting. I think you have a bad roll of tape. That has happened to me before.

I do agree it sounds like you got a bad roll. I'd call where you got it from and tell them. And tell them, they might give you a free roll like the did me. [Mine wouldn't hold anything and wasn't repositionable. The company asked me if it got too hot and melted by chance, then cooled off.]

I got mine from 3M on line, but I don't have the receipt, but I will remember that for next time. Thanks everyone.
