Default Camera Gurus

do you have your camera serviced? if so how often do you do it? I have never done it and I have had my camer for over 2 years now and taken over 10,000 pictures and I think it is not focusing right and wonder if I just need to get it serviced...also if you have experience with Canon's customer service, let me know what you thought...TIA

I was just wondering about this myself. I have had mine a few years and take tons of photos. On Saturday, about 5 of the photos I took at the pumpkin patch were not on my card when I got home. Of course, they were the pony ride ones.

I just got mine back from service in September. I bought it used & I know personally I'd taken close to 25-30K photos with it. The shutter button wasn't working all of the time & I was getting a lot of soft focus stuff back. I shipped it to the Canon service center in Irvine and had it back in brand new condition in about 1.5weeks. They are great. It's the 2nd time I've sent something to them & wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
The images that I'm getting from it now are WELL worth the down time & $$.

FYI: a basic service is about $200

I had my D90 for 3 years and took 16000 photos with it and never had it serviced. But I do know they say you should. At least you know how much it costs now. With the focus problems...did you just get a new lens or is this with old stuff and now the problem is arising? Just curious because it could be the lens too. Or the combo. But it doesn't "hurt" other than the pocket book to get it cleaned and serviced!

I think it just really needs to be cleaned...I have had the same lens on it for about 6 months, but I will try my 50mm lens and see f I get a difference
