Default I miss scrapping :(

So it's been at least 2 weeks since I've opened Photoshop. Why? Well we moved the last weekend in November and my house is still a disaster zone. Hubby's computer is set up but mine is still in the bag. I sooo badly want to get it out but I feel guilty to be scrapping when I should be unpacking. Fingers crossed that we finish getting the house set up this weekend so I can get some scrapping done!!!

(I should also admit that I need to get my butt in gear for our Christmas cards and Landon's birth announcement! Unless I want to send them out in the new year....)

Oh my gosh, you are a saint!! My husband pretty much knew if I didn't get at least an hour or so a day of computer face time, I'd be super cranky, so he made sure to set up my computer immediately when we moved in last summer. (I'm just an addict like that!)

I wouldn't feel guilty - pull that computer out and scrap! There's lots of time to unpack. I hope things get settled soon - moving is so exciting but it's soooo much work and unpacking loses it's excitement after awhile!

i feel like I've been moving forever and I miss scrapping too. We "officially" moved on nov 18th but weeks before that were spent working on the old house and then tonight I think I finally unpacked the last box inside the house. And the decorations are done. But I still have a porch and carport full of "misc junk" from the move that needs to be dealt with and I just want to sit here and scrap but now that I've allowed myself to quit working for the night I'm too tired to even think! Moving sucketh rocks I declare!!! Add to that decorating and the Christmas season all at once it makes me wonder what in the world I was thinking!

I still have crap everywhere and we moved in September. I just moved it all into the basement so I didn't have to see it any more LOL

this is exactly what happened to me when we moved last September! What I did was take it a room at a time. What really helped me was organizing how stuff ws packed so unpacking was way easier. But we still have *one* box that will likely be staying in storage because the hubs is no way inclined to hang our paintings (which are in it!).

Go ahead and scrap--especially if it helps keep you sane! Packing and unpacking is stressful enough so you deserve it!

Don't ya'll hate moving!?! And really this time of the year makes it even harder! and gosh - I have so much painting to do before we even put stuff up on the walls (the boys bedroom is painted green and orange, my bedroom is purple and the basement bathroom is Harley Davidson!) But one day at a time - it will eventually get done - right?!

And the basement...well we do have a TON of stuff down there but we are getting our new washer & dryer and we need to move all that stuff out of the way so they can get the machines in! lol

We moved into our house four years ago, and I still have boxes in the basement. They are organized though. If we ever finish the basement, all that stuff will get unpacked and have a home.

Good luck with everything Erin. It sounds like you have a lot of work to do as far as decorating etc. I think I'd keep the Harley bathroom. LOL.

Oh, I so feel you on this! Our house was soooo dated (still is in parts) - we tore out a wall in Sept 2010 and just in October (of THIS year!) finally fixed the half-wall that was left behind. Yes, for over a year my husband made me live with jagged half-torn down wall edges. (twitch, twitch) But you are right, even if it makes you crazy, it does get done eventually! Do you have other things besides painting on your "to-do" list? I swear, I thought it was such a fun idea to buy a "fixer-upper"...but living in the mess and chaos has proven to be not as much fun!

Our previous, and first, home was a fixer-upper. I swear I will NEVER EVER do that again. We ended up putting about $30,000 into it. I totally adored it though, we put so much time and energy and love into it. But when we started looking for new houses, if I walked into a house and I knew I would have to so much as change the carpet, I wouldn't even put it on the consideration list, lol! The house we just moved into doesn't even need to be painted. I will remove wall paper some time this spring, but it isn't a "I have to do this right now" kind of project.

There is this one bathroom that is bad. It's on the main floor and yeah....it's bad! That's on my to-do this - totally tear it out and get something more functional. We have to turn the hallway light on to turn the bathroom light on. It's annoying! Don't know if we'll get to that in 2012 or not. I'd also like to add hardwood floors to the living room and dining room. Don't know when we'll do that either. But that's all stuff that we can live with - the paint colors we cannot!
