Dog and Cat food recalls

I know so many of us have pets so I thought I'd share that I just learned there has been a big recall of pet foods because of salmonella poisoning. The brands so far are-

* Kirkland Costco Brand
* Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul
* Country Value
* Diamond
* Diamond Naturals
* Premium Edge
* Professional
* 4Health
* Taste of the Wild

there is info on how to figure out if the food you buy is part of the recall. I'm so bummed because the brand that I was going to buy is on this list. Guess I'll have to research again on what I want to get. Info on this page about the recall.

Thanks for posting Julie ... we have a new dog ... glad to see his Science Diet is not listed on it ... although we were looking at possibly changing his food... I received a sample of the Costco brand at the pet expo we went to a couple of weeks ago ... guess I should toss it to just be safe.

oh no, not again! Wasn't there a huge recall a few years back - my mom's dog has a very, very sensitive digestion system and pulling her off the tainted food had really messed with Lillie's system that it was months before getting her back to her food... my mom could only feed her one or two pieces a day and gradually increase that amount to get Lillie to the full amount per meal. It was not a fun time!
