Default BIG PHEW !!
Just wanted to share some happiness

6 weeks ago, my Mum was diagnosed with stomach cancer - confined to a single tumor. They did all the tests and there was no spread to anywhere else but the tumor had to come out.

They wanted to try and get the tumor out by keyhole surgery as they would have to make a big cut and remove half her stomach the other way and , as she is 75, they wanted to avoid that.

Anyway - she went in for the operation yesterday. We spend a nerve wracking day at the hospital and the operation lasted for 5 hours.

Good news - they managed to do it by keyhole. They managed to get the whole thing away .. and best of all, I have just phoned the hospital and she is out of bed, sitting in the chair, talking and sipping on some water

Hopefully, 10 days in hospital and she will be Ok to come home

Going to wrap myself round a bottle of wine to celebrate

Rachel, I'm so glad her surgery went well and that she is going to have a good recovery! You must have been so stressed! ((hugs))
