Have you asked your eye doctor about it? Your retina isn't about to detach is it??

The only time I had them, I had a serious hole in my retina that they had to surgically close. It was a very minor procedure and I had no complications from it, but that is one of the things I have been told to watch for in the future. I hope your doctor can give you an answer soon.

When I have had them... usually means that I'm having an optic migraine... at least that is what my dad's doctor told him... I usually treat it as a migraine, dark room, resting the eyes for a bit...

I have them but they're leftovers from a stroke I had about 5 1/2 years ago. Actually, it's just one big one in the upper left quadrant of my vision. I've just learned to live with it. Somedays, I don't notice it...although I'm noticing right now because I'm think about it.
I guess this isn't the most helpful information since the floater I have isn't quite like the normal floaters. My eyes are perfectly fine...the problem's with my brain. Last edited by JuliaM; 11-08-2012 at 01:15 PM. |

I have them. Usually it means I'm getting ready to have a migraine. I find the darkest room possible and lay down for awhile. If I'm in bright light, i.e. a brightly lit room, out in the sunshine or even on the computer I will get them. My eye doctor tells me my eyes are very sensitive to light. I have found nothing that helps with it except a dark room.

Mine mean a migraine too. I also go in the bedroom and sleep, and usually if I wake up after a few hours they'll be gone. I hate it. I also haven't found anything else that fixes it besides dark and sleep.

I have a bunch of them. Drives me nuts when I'm in a really white room. I had only one back in '99 and went to the ophthamologist for it. He said there's nothing I could do.

I have them too. I've had one in my right eye since I was a teenager. My eye doc also says they are most often perfectly harmless.

I hope you find a remedy soon and it's nothing too serious! While similar, I'm pretty sure actual floaters and the visual aura you get that causes spots in your vision related to migraines are two different things.

Glad you are getting it checked out! Once, one of the women who was working for me came up and said..."my vision just went black in one eye. Should I call the eye doctor???"
Um.... "YES!!! YES YES!" They sewed her retina back in place that very afternoon.

I have bunch of them and always have had. But I am very nearsighted and I understand that makes you more prone to them.

I have had them, and was told the same, they are just normal and to just ignore them. If you focus on them, they'll drive you nuts!

Glad it is nothing serious. I have eye issues, so I may know how you feel. It stinks not to be able to see correctly. Hope this doesn't last and that you are seeing clearly soon.
