Ok so I'm a native Floridian. Tonight on the news, they said we are the only state that currently doesn't have snow on the ground.

I've never lived anywhere else so it's hard for me to imagine all the snow/ice/sleet that you all go through.

So....tell the good things about where you live.

1. It doesn't snow!!
2. We are in Central California so we can pretty much drive anywhere in just a few hours - 4 hours to L.A., 3 hours to beaches, etc.
3. It doesn't snow!!

We're in Northern Virginia, near DC. The snow is one of the good things! We get the perfect amount: 2 to 3 storms a year big enough to get out and play in, with plenty of mild weather in between.

Wisconsin... trying really hard to think of something to say right now since we just got 4 more inches of that white stuff and freezing rain...

1. We have four seasons...
2. If you love the outdoors, we have something for everyone... the Northwoods are unspoiled and we have over 26,000 miles of rivers and streams - plus access to Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.
3. World Largest Waterpark... Wisconsin Dells
4. Beer, Brats, and Cheese Curds

--There's nothing prettier than a New England autumn!

--Overall our temps are pretty mild, comparatively. during winter the temps usually stay in the positive (lol, though this winter has been a little rough) spring and fall are gorgeous, and we probably only have a couple weeks of absolute unbearable humidity in the summer. So overall it's not terrible.

--I live in RI, and am pretty close to the beach no matter what.. like 45 minutes max drive to the ocean.. some areas closer, and we have lots of pretty beaches.. not just beaches with bb's hanging out and fat half naked men (though we have plenty of that) I can go sit on a rock cliff and stare at the beautiful water in peace

--Also. nothing is far from me.. being again, from RI where everything is tiny There's no driving 3 hrs just to get to target

-- I'm in a nice cozy location where I'm close enough to big places like boston, but also have quieter comfy places within the same vicinity too.

I was born in Ft. Lauderdale and I grew up all over the state until I left for TN after college. I moved in July and I remember my first day at my new job... the girls wanted to go out to lunch and they picked a place that had outdoor seating. I thought, "Are you kidding me?! It's July... we are going to die outside in the sun!" But there's this awesome thing they have up north--a cool breeze... in the summer! It's amazing.

But my most favorite thing of all? Spring. Ohmyword... it's so beautiful... flowering trees, flowering bushes... everything is so colorful! Sigh... love it.

It's hard for me to argue this time of year on the merits of Fargo. I really do love it here though. The town is the perfect size and on the grow so there is always new things popping up. Minneapolis is less than 3 hours away. Canada is close (not that we ever go there...lol). We have low crime and the schools are ranked really well. We have NDSU which is an awesome college with a great football program. There's a lot of outdoors activity if you are into that, too. I enjoy it here.

Here in Utah, we have snow on the ground, but it actually got up to 49 degrees today . . . very warm for this time of year. It was nice.

I LOVE that we have all four season here. I love the mountains . . . pretty in every season. I love Salt Lake City in general. It's a big enough city that I feel like I'm in a city, but it's small enough that I don't feel overwhelmed by it. It's a beautiful metro area. I love that I live in a quiet, semiural area, but I'm only 15 minutes away from downtown SLC.

I won't lie and say it's all peaches and cream here. Utah has its issues. But, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

We just got 8" of snow today and my MIL had been panicking.

La pretty much summed up New England. We love living in New Hampshire!

Summer is green and gorgeous, and when it's hot everyone heads to the beach.
Autumn is magical, long, and the weather is perfect for all outdoor activities.
Winter is beautiful because with no leaves you can actually see the sunrises, sunsets, and stars. And because we live on a hill we can see the city too. I love the snow too.
Spring is always welcome, and watching the world come back to life is amazing. Spring always brings back my motivation.

I grew up in Arizona, and seeing my friends post their 80 degree weather makes me sick just thinking about the hot summer!

Where we live in NH, we are an hour from Boston, an hour (or less) to the beach, an hour to the mountains, and we can choose city life or country life without really affecting our commute.

We love the people here too.

- No snow, but only an hour to the hills if we want to play in it.
- 2 Hours to San Fran, though the beaches of SF are cold, even in the summer.
- In the winter, "cold" is in the 40s, but in the summer, normal is upper 90s and 100s THOUGH, it's a DRY heat, no humidity.
- Four seasons, though Spring starts in February and ends in April and Fall starts in October and ends in December...it's not unheard of to have an 80 degree Christmas.

it rains a lot here in western washington, so when the sun comes out, everyone enjoys it more. i don't mind rain though so i love it here. everything is green! i've never been in a greener state. in the fall we have rainbows all the time. it snows here but not often, so you get excited when it does snow and then it warms up and melts the next day.

This is so interesting to hear about all of your "likes". I do think it would be cool to have seasons. We just don't get that here. We have summer...into 2 weeks of winter...1 week of spring and then back to summer. LOL!

I think California sounds like somewhere I could adjust to

I'm in central NJ.... so some good things... couple are specific to my area though...

I'm about 15 minutes to Sandy Hook State Park/Beach, and then I'm about 30 minutes by car from NYC.

The NJ shore is awesome! And no, the cast of Jersey Shore are not from NJ and don't represent the shore! (UGH!)

We have 4 seasons.... and I'm sick of this one already. I dislike winter at the moment.

We have awesome pizza, bagels and the best diners out there. Oh, and Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a Hard Roll..... mmmm.

We don't pump our own gas, lol. Yay.

PNC Arts Center - it's an outdoor concert venue in my town. Last year, I saw Maroon 5 in the summer... it was awesome! Add a little tailgating before, and it's even better! They have seats and cheap lawn seats, so you can do both.

Seriously, the longer I'm away, the more I miss it. Awesome weather and where else can you go from the beach to the redwoods to the mountains in only a few hours?

We're currently living in Houston, TX and umm, when I can think of something I like, I'll let you know. If you're into strip clubs there seems to be an abundance of those here. #YayForNoZoningLaws

Michigan isn't so bad. I do miss Florida thought, a lot! I miss the south.

We have all 4 seasons
Summers are usually mid 70's-80's.
Winters we usually don't have that much snow to deal with
It's farm country here, so it's not southern, but it is country.
Lots of open water.

I live just outside of the Boston. Some of the good things about the area:

- Four definite seasons (although sometimes spring seems to only last a week or two)
- The colors in the fall
- Drive of not more than a couple of hours to get to the ocean or mountains
- All the history

I grew up in Florida and hated it! I don't deal well with the humidity and heat, and I like having seasons. There is definitely such a thing as too much snow, but I like to see it sometimes.

The main reasons we don't live in the States aren't weatherelated though: 37.5-hour work week, and min. five weeks vacation. Hard to beat that.

Maine - I grew up here until I was 17 and went away to college, then got married and only came back to visit family now and then. I lived in a lot of warm climates during the 20 years I was gone and came to love the yearound sunshine and warmth, but there are a lot of things I do LOVE about Maine.

1. Four seasons - the fall season especially is almost enough to make up for winter (with the exception of this winter). As I've become older I don't appreciate the winters anymore but growing up I loved to ski and ice skate and snowmobile. Summers are great but too short - like La said, the humidity isn't for long stretches of time and despite what most people think it does regularly get into the 80s and 90s here in the summer.

2. We are the least densely populated state in the US - seriously. 90% of Maine is FOREST! 90%! There are parts of Maine where the average population is 1 person every 260 miles 2/3 of the state is barely even settled. Northern Maine doesn't even have roads throughout most of it, except tote roads (logging roads). We have mountains, lakes, the ocean, tons and tons of hiking trails, and are definitely a destination for outdoor activities - fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, etc.

3. From central Maine (where I am) I can drive one hour and be at the ocean (which is gorgeous). I can drive 2 hours and be in the Appalachian Mountains. I can drive in any direction for about 20 minutes and be at a lake. I can drive 2 hours and be in our largest city for culture and shopping, although I live in the 3rd largest metropolitan area in Maine. I can drive 3.5 hours and be in Boston.

What she said, except, I live one hour from SF and 2-3 hours from snow and mountains.

Take Tahoe, Redwoods and Yosemite are only 3 hours drive (different directions) from me. All places have tons to do. You can take mini vacations every month if you want! Or even the day trips!

Gorgeous weather most of the year.

Napa Valley one hour from me. My town have over 40 wineries!

Tons of hiking places.

My first answer was all snow related (and short, since I was on my phone), so I'll play again! We're in northern Virginia.

-4 seasons with gorgeous autumns, comfortable outdoor weather from March until November (minus a few of the hottest weeks of the summer), pretty springs, and just the right amount of snow. Winter temps are usually in the 30's and 40's, and we get the occasional 60+ degree day even in Jan.
-We're only half an hour from Washington, DC but our location is very suburban with lots of trees
-Great schools with lots of resources for both special needs kids and kids who need more of an academic challenge
-Lots of parks, public rec centers, and kid-focused/family-friendly entertainment
-3 hours from places like Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestowne, and Yorktown
-3(?) hours from the ocean
-less than 2 hours from the mountains (though I don't think we've ever been)
-DC has lots of free museums, historic attractions, etc.

Hmmm...I'm sure there's a lot more I could mention, but I'm drawing a blank. If I could live anywhere it would be in Massachusetts, Connecticut, or New York to be closer to family, but since we can't live there due to DH's job I'm very happy to be here.
