Default QOTD - Hardware - 12.09.15

What kinda hardware you got?

I'm currently working with an HP laptop. I don't know the specs as I'm borrowing it from a friend but it works real good.

I can't remember the last time I had a desktop -- maybe 2004 or 2005? Laptops just work so much better for me & having the kiddos & being able to scrap 'on the move.'

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop. I can't be tied to a desk. I usually scrap in bed.

I have a desktop computer, don't know the specifics. It has an extra hard drive in it to store my scrap stash though, that I do know

Since I work from home I have a desktop (Dell) with a huge monitor. I also have a laptop (HP) that I can use for scrapping but I find I would rather use the desktop. My "office" is in a corner of my living room so I can see the TV and scrap or chat with DD while she's watching from the couch. I don't scrap outside the home or in the bedroom or anywhere else in my home so it works for me.

ETA: DD has has a Macbook that she won't let me near so I can't scrap on that - LOL

I have a cheap Toshiba laptop that I bought 3 years ago. It was great at the time and has done well for me, but it's getting slower with all the programs and such. Might be time for a new one. I used a desktop before that and I loved it, but a big desktop computer does not work in my living room now and it got very dated in the time I haven't been using it. Its still in the office, but not being used at all.

I am a PC desktop girl! I am not a laptop person. I don't like it sitting on my lap, although I think its really neat how it can go with you places. I like the speed on my computer, although in the next month I'm going to make it faster and give me more hard drive space. I already have 4 or 5 TB of space, but I'm running out of room for my photos and layouts. Most importantly is to upgrade my motherboard and get more speed added to the computer. Outside of that, I really don't know my specs--that's my dad's department since he's the one who built the computer and keeps upgrading it for me.

I have an HP laptop, and it works really well. Like others have already said I can't just sit at a desk and work, I need to be able to change the scenery up a bit.

MacBook Pro and a Cinema Display for when I need a bigger screen (it's attached to my DH's Mac Mini usually.)

Lenovo laptop for me. I thought it was an Idea Pad but it might be a Think Pad like Carrie's. I can't remember the full specs but I know there's a SSD and a 1 TB HD.

I use my HP laptop with a 17,3" screen for scrapping. I also have a macbook air that I got from work, but I don't like it as much as my pc.

I have an iMac and a macbook pro that I use. The macbook gets more usage as it can go sit on the couch but the iMac has all my kits and photos hooked up to it whereas when I use the macbook I load on the kit and the photos I want to use. But maybe santa will bring me the bigger hard drive I asked for and I can fix that problem!!

I love laptops. I switched to a laptop in about 2000 for grad school, and I can't imagine ever going back. Right now I have a Dell. I'm on the fence about it. My last 2 laptops were 17" HPs, and when I had to replace the second unexpectedly I went with a 15" screen to save money. I wish I hadn't. I thought I'd get used to it, but it's been almost 6 months and I haven't yet. I'm also finding it slow, but I know that's because the HD is too slow for the i7 processor to really do its thing. Someday I'd like to replace my HD with a SSD.

Custom built PC that my hubby just updates as needed. So lucky to have him buy parts so cheap and never need to pay someone do do anything to it. Runs like a dream.
