I'm working on this layout of Max, who is nine, and his bff, and while I *know* that I can use flowers on a boy page, I don't want to. But I also don't know what to use instead.

I'm using a Cindy template, and there are three spots for a cluster of flowers. I want to see what other people have used instead of flowers, so whether it's a boy page or for some other reason you didn't use flowers but still embellished, I'd love to see what you did!

That's kind of a mission impossible for me haha... I always always put flowers on my page..., but here is what I found:

I had to look REALLY HARD for these! I guess I use flowers more than I thought I did.

My go-to seems to be stars.

I'm looking through my gallery and... give me ALL the flowers! LOL.

I did find these though... lots of themed elements and buttons and stars seemed to be the way I went about it. And maybe do scatters instead of clusters?

No flowers???!!! GASP!

I don't think I've ever done a page without flowers. But if I did I would probably still do clusters with leaves and greenery and layer a themed element, stars, bows and buttons on top in lieu of a flower.

This one KIND OF doesn't have flowers (ignore the tiny flowers) because I wanted to use the little critter elements in the kit. (edit: this one actually has a ton of flowers, sorry, I am blind!)

This one only has one little flower, but see... no clusters. So I clearly can't do clusters without flowers. Or don't WANT to do clusters without flowers. I think that's it.

Technically this has one flower but that could easily be replaced with something else...

I usually use flowers on boy pages too. If I don't use flowers then I have to use a really themed kit that has lots of other elements in it.

Apparently I use Flowers on EVERY.SINGLE.PAGE! Okay, maybe like 99.9% of all my pages! Haha! I just went through my last 400 pages in my gallery and these are the only ones I found without (or with a few sneaked in here and there). Most are either pocket pages, or extremely themey!

Okay, this one only has two flowers! That's not bad!

WOW! YOU GUYS ARE SO INSPIRING!

It looks like the key to not using flowers is to be artsy or to go thematic. I may just have to do flowers; we'll see.

Finished! I managed to do it without actual flowers (paper accordions don't count, right??). Thanks to everyone for inspiring me and to Ru, Si & Amanda for making such a fun kit!
