So I saw (another site i believe) that said shutterfly ready premade pages ...
how are the shutterfly ready "stuff" different than the regular 12x12 sized pages?? (did that make any sense?) I want to do a book (not sure what brand/company I will go with).... just wish I could come up w/ a great theme or good a good amount of pages done from a section of time....I'm not a chrono scrapper....makes it hard to do a book..... |

If I'm understanding right... the premade pages would be the pages shutterfly already has ready and you just add pictures and text.
I think by "Regular" 12x12 pages, you are referring to ones you create yourself? You would then upload those to shutterfly and it would be your page, not one they have already. |

Yea, I think it's what Sarah said.
As long as you keep things within the outermost 0.25" on a 12x12 you SHOULD be ok. Wendyzine has an action over at scrapbookgraphics I think. It takes your 12x12 PSD and walks through slightly repositioning things until they fit so nothing will get cut off. ETA: I think I'll sit down and get some of my pages ready for 8x8 with her actions tonight. I need to delete some of these PSD's and get a book printed already! Lol!

No it's because shutterfly is a commercial printer. So they sometimes print things slightly bigger and then trim it to 12x12. Or maybe they print to 12x12 and the actual dimensions are slightly smaller so they trim to that.
Either way, things can get cut off sometimes, that's all.

It just means this person made the pages, like, 11.75" or whatever the exact dimensions are on Shutterfly. That's all. She's saved you abt 45 seconds on each page you want to ul to a book.
![]() Shutterfly has its own templates on the website that you can dl and use to resize your pages, btw. That's what I used when I printed my two (so far!) books there, and everything worked out just fine. |

Oh I see.
Well, depends. The specs for shutterfly says the bleed is 11.95x11.95 and it trims to 11.75x11.75. So hopefully that person actually made the page 11.95x11.95 but knows that almost 1/4" all around will get trimmed so there's nothing important there. If not, then yeah, it's probably 11.75x11.75. |
