What part of it confuses you?

Well it's not so much confusing as it is I don't know where to start.
Do you just create a 4x6? What kind of cardstock do you print on?
Is there a certain way that they should be printed?
Do you just cut it out and then adhere to the cardstock?
What about embellishments? Do you use strictly digital? Or do you use real ones as well?

The beauty of hybrid is that you do whatever you want, lol. Create a document whatever size you want (the small standard size is 4.25x5.5, but you can really do whatever you want). Create your card in that document. You can either do shadows and everything in the document like you would a layout, and then flatten and print. Or you can size everything the way you want, and then print each piece separately. Totally a personal preference.
You can print on whatever you want. Regular cardstock, glossy photo paper, matte photo paper, etc etc. You print it out as you would a regular photo (or at least that's what I do). Alternatively, some people like to print out as 4x6 and use an outside printer like Walmart or Walgreens or whatever. Same principle, just different method of printing.
You adhere it with glue or a tape runner or glossy accents or mod podge. Whatever you're comfortable with. You embellish with whatever you want. Print and cut out digital piece, or use stuff from your real life stash.

I usually make 5x7" cards or 5x5" cards, but that's the great thing about making your own - they can be whatever size you want! You are pretty much only limited by your printing means b/c you can even make your own envelope.
I usually print on double-sided satin or double-sided matte cardstock - that way when I print, what I print on is actually the card (does that make sense?)
I use both digi and "real" embellishments - it depends on the card!
There are tons of awesome cards out in the gallery that will give you some great inspiration! Be sure to let us know when you start - I'd like to see some of your works! :thumbup:

I usually try to fit everything I want to print on one letter-size sheet, and I use matte photo paper or plain white cardstock. I think the glossy photo paper make the papers look less "natural" than the matte one. Then I print everything and assemble, or just print it and cut the sheet in half if the card is purely digital. HTH!!
I can't wait to see everyone's replies. I am a huge cardmaker and ditched my traditional scrapbooking when I started in on stamping cards. But of course now I'm behind in scrappin' and luckily discovered digiscappin'. Boy was I happy to discover all the hybrid ideas out there to double the use of my never-ending supply of digi kits. I have made a few hybrid cards with some of Libby's kits in my gallery. I like printing the papers on matte paper and layering them on cardstock and then adding embellishments from my traditional stash. But I also love the templates I recently saw here in the Shoppe that included a card layout and envelope.
I like creating cards with digi supplies coz it results in less material wastage.
What I normally do is to try to lay it out on Photoshop first. This way, I can size all my papers and elements perfectly so when I print out, I just cut. Like Chloe, I try to keep everything fitted inside 1 page. I use white cardstock as a base, but print my papers on matte photo paper (easier to photograph my final product than when I use glossy)
I also love stamping, so I'm incorporating that in my cardmaking. I would usually take a journal mat, remove the lines, and stamp my images or sentiments there.
To give my cards dimension, I use the fat glue dots and foam tape on most of my elements. I also still use tradi scrapping stuff, particularly brads and ribbons (I love these!) because I've got way too many of these lying around (and I also love to buy them!).
Oh, for card sizes, I've made different sizes. I've done 5x7, 4.25x5.5, even 3x3 cards. They don't stay long in my hands though. I normally give away before I get a chance to take photos

Then, I chop my cardstock to a size that "looks nice"... never measure or anything). My favorites are square cards, but sometimes for practicality (so they can fit in envelopes) I make them 4x6 or a tad smaller than my envelope. Then I design my cards with papers and the elements, using ink, stamps and brads as I need them. Do you call this hybrid, or is it cheating??? I never buy papers, and hardly any stuff from real scrapbooking stores; everything I make always includes digital papers, etc. Here's a few examples of my cards...

It's super easy when you get the hang of it! Go to the photo in your gallery that you want. Right click and choose "Copy Image Location". Then come back here and in the reply area, click the little yellow square icon that has the mountains in it (and the circle in the corner). When the pop up appears, just hit paste (CTRL+V), and submit! Easy peasy!

The SSD gallery isn't an "open" gallery, so you do have to have some SSD stuff on anything you post in the gallery. The only exception is if you make something for a challenge, but its still encouraged to use SSD on anything you post in the gallery here.
There are quite a few open galleries out there... A Cherry On Top, The Digi Chick, Digi Shop Talk, Designs In Digital, My Scrapbook Art, Digi Scrap Addicts... you can post anything and everything at those places! If you are particularly proud of a creation (that you can't post here), post it there!!
