Dungeons & Dragons (D&D)

Hiya! I have a kit request/suggestion - Dungeons & Dragons (D&D).

It's gone mainstream and surged in popularity since Stranger Things first aired. I played it in high school when people were coming off the "satanic panic" and were largely still convinced it involved demon worship (spoiler alert: it doesn't). Now, my grandson is a member of a D&D club at his high school. And my stepdaughter and her husband went with a D&D theme for their wedding.

For those unfamiliar with it, think Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit - characters like elves and dwarves and humans and faeries, and roles like mage, thief, healer, warrior, archer, bard, etc. It's interactive storytelling, where one person (the dungeon master) sets up the story and allows the party members to interact with them, making choices about what to do next. Think "Choose Your Own Adventure" novels, but done out loud, around a table. And those events that have an element of chance - like the outcome of a battle - they toss one or more dice and the roll determines the outcome.

For elements in the kit, you'd definitely have to include polyhedral dice. Maybe swords and daggers, a bow and arrow, elements of magic, pencils and paper, and a player's handbook. You'll find a ton of images with a simple Google search and there's a bunch of ephemera you'll find on Etsy.

You'd also need lots of word art: "saving throw" and "hit points", "wisdom", "strength", "constitution", "dexterity", "intelligence", "charisma", "race" and "class", and there's a ton of humor that would make great stickers or cards... "Never split the party", "Sure, roll for it", "Are you sure?", "Well, that ended poorly", "It's all fun and games until the DM smiles", (or "When the DM smiles, it's already too late"), "There are 20 sides to every story", and "I have lived many lives; I have been on many adventures" - and perhaps my favorite, "You're never too old to play pretend".

Anyway, that's my humble kit request!

Seconding this. Meagan's Creations used to have a kit (which I got in the Going Going Gone sale) but I'd love to see a new one, especially with a more "enchanted forest" color palette

That makes sense. I was all: I have a SSD D & D kit - but couldn't find it.

To me this is an enchanted forest look, but its open to interpretation 😁
