Feeling a bit crafty and decided I should try to make this all myself instead of spending $25 on the kit. I didn't have much Halloween paper, so I bought some and printed it on my hp presentation paper and tried mod podging it on the blocks (my mod podge is at least 5 years old). My problem(s) is that the ink is running a little and the paper is bubbling up. Has anyone mod podged
paper they've printed at home. Is it because my mod podge is old? If I run out to the craft store to buy new mp should I get regular Halloween scrapbook paper, too? Would have loved for this to be a hybrid (and not spend money on paper!). Thanks for any advice, Karyn

Did you let your paper dry before you used the mod podge on it? I like to let my paper dry overnight before I use mod podge on it.
I don't have experience with that specific paper, but I don't think you need to buy new scrapbook paper. I would use the paper you already have printed and just try again. Use a foam brush and use a really light layer of mod podge. Try not to brush on the paper TOO much, jutst one or two passes with the brush should be enough.
You can also use a brayer (a rubber roller) or a drinking glass to smooth down the paper before you mod podge on top of it. Do the bottom to attach it to the wood first, and then do a layer on top to seal it.

Cute idea!!!

I've used HP presentation paper and MP and it has been fine... I do what Col wrote... my down fall is that I always have to putz with the first layer instead of putting on the the light layer, letting dry and then going back to makes sure everything is covered. good luck!

Thanks...only a couple colors bled and letting it dry overnight would probably be better (I'm pretty impatient when crafting!). Thanks

The BEST way to do this is to print from a pro lab. When images are printed with chemicals and light they are waterproof (liquid proof)
the design/image will retain its vibrant color
I use Persnickety Prints
Here is a video with them dunking a print in water from an HP inkjet and theirs
