Help With Blank PDF Templates

I have a really dumb question to ask....If a template is in PDF format and it is a blank template (not decorated--just the outline) how do you open it to decorate in whichever program you use? I use Paint Shop Pro and tend to stay away from PDF files because I am not sure how to open them to "decorate" them....I know how to print them "as is"....Hope this makes sense....
Thanks for any help! :)

I just open it in PS, but I run CS2 so I'm not sure if PSP has that capability. Sometimes it comes into PS as a regular jpg type file, other times it comes in as a png with only the lines showing and a transparent background. Then I just drag and drop it onto a new white 8.5x11 and go from there.

I don't have PSP...but IF it will work in PSP...here is how to find out...

1. open up the file folder where the pdf file is
2. right click on the file and choose "open with"
3. choose PSP

If it can open the file...it will...if not, you will receive an error message.

Hope this helps.

Thank you both so very much for your tips....Unfortunately I cannot open PDF files in Paint Shop Pro....I feel as though I miss out on alot of fabulous templates....There is one particular template that I want to purchase, but it would do me absolutely no good if I can't open it and "decorate" it in Paint Shop Pro....Sigh....:(

I'm sorry to be such a pain in the buns, but I do not know of any way to be able to save it as a jpg or anything else for that matter....I just experimented on another PDF file that I have and I can't change the file type....The only option in the drop down menu is PDF....

Oh well, thank you so much for your help....It truly is appreciated....:)

wHEN you open it with the program you are using does it have a save as option? It should have the different file extentions you can save as there. Ive never seen a template saved as a PDF and dont think I have any on my computer so I couldnt try it to see.

Hi Jessica, I sent you a PM....I do have the option to save the PDF but there are not any other file extensions that I can save them as in the drop down menu....

Thanks so much!:)
