I am very new to the Hybrid way of scrapbooking. I made a little minibook and I needed some flowers, so I printed them from a kit on white cardstock and cut out.

Is that the way you do it too? Because I saw this great minibook as an idea for Zoe Pearn's kit "Close to my heart" in de shoppe and I wondered if everyone printed on cardstock and then use it as regular paper?

Please let me know the secrets of Hybrid scrapbooking

If I want a particular flower etc from a particular kit, then I do it exactly as you described :thumbup:

Usually, I then gently smooth the edges by sanding them with a nail file, which gives a nice worn effect if you slightly over do it, then I often chalk or ink the edges to help define them.

I vary the way I mount the element too - either using glue or raised glue dots or foam pads. Layering aspects of the element adds depth too.

Just play and experiment and you'll find what works for you and your printer.

I do that too! And if I want to give it some dimension, I just attch it with a foam mounting square to make it more 3D. There's TONS of good hybrid tips in this forum and several hybrid posts on SSD designer blogs too. HTH!

Sometimes I print on cardstock and other times paper...it all depends on the look I am going for.

I print mainly on paper. To make a flower more dimensional stroke each petal between your thumb and index finger to curl it

See what I mean? The girls are filled with good ideas! I have TONS of cardstock and often print on it for hybrid so it'll stand up to my kids!

I usually print on cardstock...sometimes I print it all as one merged image and other times I want the dimension so I print elements separately...depends on if it's a lazy day or a crafty day I guess.

I prefer "presentation paper" to cardstock. The colors pop a little bit more and it isn't as thick.

I have an Epson printer, and I print my hybrid stuff on their matte presentation paper. I usually print each piece individually and then attach them all together on the card. I like the dimension it gives me.

I have a TON of paper flowers by Prima Marketing. I *big puffy heart* them.
