Let's talk paper.......again

Brodo gettin her Swerb on
Ugh.

So apparently I used up all my Kodak Satin finish paper. I love satin/luster finish. Not matte, but not glossy either.

Anyway. Now I need more paper. I like to print on cardstock, but dangit, I just don't feel like it for my next project.

So help! What do you turn to? What's your favorite? I want to go out tomorrow and get some.

Thaaaaanks lovers :)

I bought some Softgloss photo paper (can't remember which brand) and I think it's the same as satin/lustre photo paper. I love it! :)

I like Epson papers, too, but I have an Epson and don't know if it makes a difference in the print.

I do not like Kodak paper because they have a horrible smell to them....I just can't get past it.

I also have been meaning to try presentation paper...it's for flyers and such...thinner and less expensive than photo paper. I don't know how archival it is though.

For some of the stuff that's intricate, like swirls and such, I don't mind cutting out, but printing them on sticker paper helps with adhesive issues.

I always use Canon, I have heard it's best to use the same paper as the printer you have to get the best print quality.

I totally agree...I have an Epson printer and decided to go for the cheaper Kodak paper and was really disappointed. I actually thought I was going mad...I'd print my layout and think that it would look alright and then half an hour later...faces would be orange and hair green. I finally worked out that it was the paper and probably summer humidity that made my prints go crazy. Anyhoo I've got to get some more paper so I'm interested too to see what your fav's are...

Fee :)

I've heard the same thing about ink/paper from the same company. When I bought my paper, I looked for Epson paper, but they didn't have any at all in the store. They carry Epson printers but only Kodak and a couple other types of paper. Go figure. I may just have to order some online. Though I got good results with non-Epson paper.

I have an HP printer and try to stick to HP papers. The print quality is good but I have been disappointed in the drying time, I just hate it when you think something is dry stick it in an album and have some sticking. Anyway, I was at the store and noticed that there was a new HP Everyday Photo Paper that was semi-gloss and said fast dry. It is dry to the touch in 1 minute and ready for mounting in 1 hour. The paper has the sheen and weight like a magazine page and what I have printed and put in albums so far has looked good to me. I have not tried mounting it to chipboard yet.

Thanks ladies! I didn't get a chance to go out today (aka I was too lazy) so I just printed on white cardstock.

I have an epson, but I had incredible luck with the kodak satin finish. I just can't find it anywhere now, lol. I bought it at least 5 years ago, maybe more, lol.

I'm gonna try the staples one (I need to go over there anyway) and probably get some epson stuff.

I have a Canon printer and try to stick with Canon paper. I did have good luck with Ilford paper. But that is the only other paper brand I've had luck with. Everything else I've tried has had the same results as Fee. :( That satin paper sounds really intriguing...I might have to give it a try.

I just send everything to Costco now and have them print on their Lustre/Matte paper. Love the quality of our store!!!!!

I LOVE the presentation paper from EPSON...great deal and great prints. I also use the Kodak MATTE paper as well as the COSTCO brand gloss finish...BTW I use a Lexmark printer and have NEVER bought their brand of paper!!!

I have been really impressed with the Epson Premium Presentation Matte Paper.

Me too! And I even have a Canon! :) But my local Staples and Office Depots both stopped carrying the Canon brand version, so, goshdarnit, I just had to switch. ;)
