I have a question.

Besides printing on matte double sided photo paper I'd like to know what else you print on. If you use cardstock, what kind? I mainly have Bazzill cs from my paper scrap days but doubt it would go thru my printer. The reason I ask is because I would like to use the DIY cube template to do the 3 photo cubes this month and I just don't think the photo paper will hold up. Maybe I'm wrong and it will be fine but I just thought I would ask. Thanks!
 
You could always make the cubes out of something a little 'stiffer' & then mod podge your photos/LO's to them?

I'm no hybrid expert, but I print on regular ol' cardstock.
 
I'm a Bazzill fan too. It goes thru my printer okay, but sometimes I need to "help it along" so it feeds ok. Otherwise, I lighter weight cardstock works well too.
 
Debbie, that's the paper I printed my DIY cube on. But it is super light weight - depends on what you're going to be using it for. Mine was for my DH's 92-year old grandma to put on her dresser and she needed something super light to pick up every now and then. For other purposes, I'd probably print again on the matte paper but then layer it onto another cube cut out of heavier cardstock. If your printer won't handle the thick cardstock, you could probably take the file to a printer/copy shop and have them do it?
 
Thanks for the advice girls...I'll be giving it a whirl this weekend and see how it ends up. I have a brand new borderless printer that does 12x12 so I'm a little hesitant to put thru something thick like Bazzill but I'm sure I have some odd pieces of lighter CS lying around that I can try first. Appreciate the help!
 
It usually depends on how your printer feeds the paper. It runs straight through on my Epson and it will handle paper a lot thicker than bazzill. If the paper curls through to feed it has a lot more problems with thick paper.
 
For something durable and as a gift to someone outside the home I would probably make the cube first out of chipboard then create/print out the squares separately and glue them on (painting/inking all the cube edges first).

For something pretty to keep on my own or kids shelves I would stick with the photo paper (I use 270gsm so it's still quite firm once stuck together).
 
I usually use Epson Matte Presentation paper - they have two thickness. I use the thick for things that will become boxes, etc and the lighter stuff when I have a base to glue it to. It really depends on how much handling the end product will get - try to base your paper weight on that if you can.
 
I have used Bazzill (I used to paper scrap) through my printer ... not sure what the weight of it is ... but I think I have used 110 pound cardstock through there as well.
