Printer Suggestion?

Okay :p it might sound a bit ridiculous ... but ... I used to keep all my LOs in hard disk ... and only print 1-2 of them ...
the reason is because I don't have any color printer LOL ...
my hubby has been quite amuse with my scrap addict thing and now I tell him that I want to buy a printer ha ha ha ... you all should see the look on his face :p

I want to print all my LOs NOW ... now now now ...
I can't stand to just keep looking at them in my HD
and both my mother and mother in law are keep asking: where's the pictures of Bianca's birthday? and etc etc etc ...
I keep them all in my HD - LOL ...

Now ... would you please give me any suggestion what kind of printer that I should buy?? errr ... not an expensive one of course ...
my budget is around USD 150 ... up and down :D

I got an Epson Photo Stylus R220 about 2.5 years ago and I love mine...I'm not sure what the newest model of it is. It cost me $100 CAN (about $75 USD at the time). It's been a great printer for me.

I know lots love HP, but I had a color printer by them and seriously HATED it. I also had a Lexmark and a Dell, they were pieces of crap.

If you're looking for a good quality printer, look at Epson, Canon and Kodak, I think...I hear the best reviews for the 3 companies.
 
I have an Epson R340 I got 2 years ago and I love it. Prints great. Ink can be slightly expensive, but it's good for MONTHS, so I don't mind.

Don't forget about places like shutterfly, scrapbookpictures.com, walgreens, etc to get your photos and layouts printed.

You can also make cd's for your family with all the pictures on them, and they can print out whatever they want. Then you don't waste money printing pictures for them.
 
wish I live somewhere out there 'cos I am in Indonesia and I don't think I can buy from shutterfly and the others :D
that's why I'm thinking on printing my own :)

so ... epson .... I heard that too but I also heard about HP and today just got information from my friend, he suggests Samsung (shock)
 
I have an HP Photosmart printer and it's been a great printer for me for several years. I paid around 100USD new. I don't use it much for scrapbook printing because I pay my sister ink cost to print 12x12 on her wide format. :lol I use it for photo printing and to print out little 8x8 sample pages for my kids to keep on cardstock. It makes them smile and doesn't cost me much.
 
I adore my HP PHotosmart C5180 all in one. I just bought another one on Ebay and paid about $100 new in the box. I had Canon's before, and while I love my Canon camera I was never happy with the printer. My HP printer has printed all of my layouts....the cartridges last a long time and it prints beautifully even on just the normal setting and not even up to "best" or whatever. It has a scanner/copier too so that comes in handy also.
 
I think I have an Epson I got in 2005, and it cost me about $350. It can print up to 13" x 9". I like it...there are probably better ones since then though.
 
I wish that I had gotten a wide format when I bought mine 2 years ago. Now I have to wait a while before I can justify buying one, lol.
 
nop ... I am looking for regular one, as here we have so many digital printing to print wide format ... and I prefer do it outside.
but to print my own scrap *daily one* - I am sooooooo long to print on my own :(
eventhough my hubby seems not supporting it :p
 
I bought an R1800 last Christmas and I love it! the ink is expensive but I've only had to replace it once in 6 months and I print a lot! My only suggestion is to turn off the "glossy" ink if you're not wanting it, because it goes fast!
 
I have the Canon Pixma ip90v and I freakin LOVE it. I dont have a lot of space at home because I also have a Brother Laser Printer / Fax / Scanner / Copier that I use daily for business prints, etc. So for my hybrid prints I wanted something really small that wouldnt crowd us in the office.

The canon, is great because it's tiny (only about 2.5" tall) and I can put it away in a cabinet when I'm not using it. It's on the pricey side but totally worth it for us and it prints beautifully.

yesterday's my husband asked his friend (who have a store of computers and all) and unfortunately he suggest to keep my photos (he didn't have any idea what kind of picture that I have :p ) digitally
and my DH who don't agree with buying a printer ... agrees with him *GRRRRRRRR* and his friend told him that I'll be dying to buy the ink ...

How many times do you girls need to buy new ink?
For 1 original ink (I know there could be 4-6 colors) - if you buy new one - how many pages you can print? in standard A4??

It depends on your printing settings. If you always print on matte paper and on the highest setting, it'll use up ink faster than say...printing on glossy paper with the highest setting. Which of course is more ink than doing everyday printing on normal paper with the normal setting. Does that make sense?

That said, I print matte/highest setting probably 75% of the time, and my cartridges last me around 6 months. My printer has 6 cartridges, and they cost about $15 apiece. They NEVER all run out at the same time, though - it depends on what colors I'm using the most during that 6 months (if I print a lot of teal, my cyan/lt cyan will go first...if I do a lot of pinks and reds, my magenta/lt magenta go first). KWIM?

My printer is new, and I've kept track of everything I've printed so for, which is:

9 - 8x10" photos
42 - 4x6" photos
4 - full, 10pg bracket albums
4 - mini tag albums
9 - other complete hybrid projects

I have a printer ink widget (on my mac), and it's still showing full capacity on all of my cartridges! :thumbup:
 
I have always used HP and LOVE the results, I have 2 an HP 2175 all-in-one that works great for all of my LO and everyday stuff, and then I have a HP A616 personal printer that only prints up to 5x7 for printing single prints and small stuff. I love them both. I am thinking I would love a large format one though so I could print 12 x12

I've a Kodak Easy Share 5300. It's an all around printer/scanner/copier. I think we paid around $150 for it and it included the cartridges with it. What printing I've done with it on photo paper has been stunning. The colors are quite true and they do dry quickly. I'm not a prodigious printer so I don't know how long the cartridges actually last. I owned a Canon before and it printed beautifully too, but I thought it went through ink rather quickly.
 
hi Girls, it's me again! YAY ... I finally bought Epson R 290 and I just tried using it last nite :)
I set the printing mode into CMYK but it seems the color is changing a bit with the one that is in my monitor :(
should it be RGB instead?
and ... with the available cartridge right now, how long does it take to run out? :D
sorry if I have too many questions, but I want to start my hybrid soon so I will need a lot of advice from all the experts here ;)

I have an HP Photosmart 8250 that prints outstanding photos/LOs!!! I think you wouldn't go wrong buying an HP Photosmart printer but I think I would have to go ahead and also suggest one of those Epsons like Bree suggested. My one stink about HP is their software! I had an old HP all-in-one that I wanted rid of and for the life of me, 3 IT people, and even the dang people who work for HP, couldn't get their software off of my computer! It was horrible! I now have a new computer and I guess I'm am dumb for buying another HP but their prints are gorgeous! I think my next purchase though is going to be an Epson!
 
do you mean HP laser printer??
I think my budget is enough only for the Epson :D
I bought it here around USD 150 ;) and I think it's a bit more expensive than other country's price.
