Printing at home

So I've gotten a good little supply from Michaels (yay for coupons lol) and now I am wondering if the printer we have at home would work to print out my SSD papers/layouts/elements/etc to make the hybrid projects. I'm currently using my sister in law's printer as I don't own one yet =( and so I don't obviously want to screw it up lol. Here is what kinda printer she has:

HP Deskjet F340 all in one.

Also what kinda paper would you use (or could I use) AND (lol) what printers would you suggest for using with a laptop to print the digi goodies?

Any color printer will do. I love my Kodak, its been great to me and its inexpensive to refill ink and such. Double sided matte photo paper is my go-to for all hybrid happiness

DITTO!!

I love double sided paper so that I don't have to worry about getting the right side up and also so that I can print patterns on both sides! Love it! I use matte, also!

Good luck and Jen's right...any color printer will work. I've always used HP's and had good luck with them. In my opinion, the paper is almost as much, if not more, important than the printer!!

I have an Epson and use Epson Matte Presentation paper. But awhile back the girls he talked me into (twisted my arm and everything!) getting the double sided stuff at Target...I got it but haven't had a chance to use it yet...I'm sure it will be great though! hehe
 
Lol thanks ladies. I figure the paper would be more important but it's my sister in law's printer and heaven forbid I screw it up ha! I am going to have to look for the paper when I go to walmart lol.
 
Yep, the paper is more important. I have an HP 3-in-1 printer that is almost 4 yrs old and that's what I use and it's just fine!! I print on the Officemax brand matte double-sided presentation / brochure paper. Just be sure to change the printer settings (paper type) to reflect the type of paper you're printing on (this makes a HUGE difference in the color vibrancy - TRUST me!!).
 
I've always used HP's as well, and I've never had any problems! I don't do a lot of hybrid printing, I'm just talking photos, but my prints always turn out great... And, photo paper is so important - I was using some cheap stuff around Christmas, and all my black & white pics have turned green over time. Usually I use Kodak paper and the colours stay true.

Next time I upgrade, I'll be going for an Epson large format so that I can print my own papers and layouts and stuff, but only because I don't think HP do a large format (not that we can get over here anyway).
