printing out digiscrap pages?

I'm going to be printing out like 10ish pages I've made, to put into an album. What kind of paper should I use - glossy or matte? I'm leaning towards matte, since the pages will be in plastic page protectors, but I also wanted your opinions. Is there any settings for my printer to make the pages look as nice as possible, and NOT waste a bunch of ink? Thanks for any advice you can offer! :)

Oh, yeah, I've seen that at my Staples before. I might have to go look at that. I just want to get a paper that won't discolor or have the colors run together or anything...maybe that's my ink, I don't really know.
 
I've never used that exact brand before but yeah, the satin, lustre, or soft/semi-gloss finishes really make colors pop. It's like partway between matte and glossy.

I get mine printed at www.greenpixelprinting.com (which is a Canadian sister site to www.polkadotpotato.com)...the prices are reasonable and the quality is really good. I could print at home and it would probably be cheaper, but the hassle is gone when I get them printed elsewhere, lol...

I need to print more pages...I only just started printing them in the fall, I printed 30 layouts (I've been digi scrapping for almost 5 years - so I have LOTS more than that, lol).
 
If it were me, I'd really look at having them printed elsewhere than on your home computer -especially for that many. If you're doing single pages, look into a sale at scrapbookpictures.com, polkadotpotato.com or scrappingsimply.com or have them done at a photo place like Sams or Costco (Sams does matte finish for 1 hr and glossy for the send out). Or find another place. You might end up spending the same amount in processing as you would on ink and won't give your printer such a hard workout.

Hmm, I hadn't considered that though, but I might have to. That would require me getting all my pages I want in the album done ahead of time, hah. But, does anyone have any specific recommendations or experience with any of those? I might do that instead of printing them myself.
 
I do mine at Sams all the time. It's about $1.58 per sheet with local taxes, and a pretty good deal. I just print them as I do them, about every 2 weeks. and then I can rearrange my albums as needed, or stack them and do a big album load in the evening while watching tv. It just works great for me.
 
I send mine off to scrapbookpictures.com. They have turned out really nice. The first week of this month they are having a sale on 12x12.
 
Depending on what day you order them it takes like 5-7 days. But they are on the other side of the country them me. I am an hour and a half from any Sam's or Costco or Target so I have to send off for mine.
 
Yeah, I just looked...definitely also across the country from me. I live pretty close to a Target, so I would do it there, but I can't find where you would upload the pictures online on their website.

Has anyone used like CVS or Walgreen's for printing? I wouldn't even know if they print 8x8 pages, I haven't had my photos printed there in years.
 
you can't do them at Target. You can at walmart, cvs or walgreens but what you need to do first is put your 8x8 page on a white 8x10 canvas, save it and upload it that way, then print it as an 8x10. Walmart's printing processes vary greatly from store to store so I would upload 1 or 2 first and pick them up and try it. You may want to try a different store.
 
Okay, that was my plan anyway...I'm going to try printing a couple at Walgreens first, since I live like 3 minutes away from it. Thanks everyone! :)
