will the software for the Sillhouette SD work with Windows 7?

Hmm not 100% sure but the best place to check would be Silhouette themselves. The software is free so you can download and install and see...also if you are contemplating getting the machine visit their blog at least weekly to pick up free shapes...

Yes - I'm a Windows 7 user and I have used both the SS and SSDE version.
