I spent the first half of May sick with what I thought was COVID, but my test was negative. I had the same symptoms as I had before when I had COVID in 2024, so I was really surprised to get the results I did. My physician prescribed antibiotics and a steroid pack, and that's what finally got me out of the spiral. I am SO VERY GRATEFUL to not be sick anymore!
It's been 3 months since my spinal cord stimulator generator/controller was replaced, and I'm now thinking more clearly and definitely have a lot of pain control over the chronic back pain issues.I am so glad I wasn't dealing the uncontrolled pain while I was sick with the sinus/respiratory infection. In the past, adding physical issues on top of my chronic pain just put me out of commission.
I pushed through and continued to design and create layouts, so May has been productive for me. We celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday instead of Sunday. It was a lovely time having my children with me. We ordered in Chinese so no one had to cook or clean up.
My sister turned 50 this year, so we had a nice dinner and gave her presents. She is the executive director for the Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Florida. There has been a lot of stress on her so she just wanted to have a low key birthday. She had a great time.
I've been cross stitching while watching old movies as well as watching Breaking Bad with my DH. I've also created a lot of spreads for my Happy Planner as I know the remaining half of the year gets super busy and I'd like to have the spreads all done and pretty so I can just start on each week.
I've been doing some organizational things around the house in the past week, and I feel a lot of satisfaction and joy in that. I've been going through my art and craft supplies and giving them away if I'm not using them. I've just been stacking new art/craft purchases in folders or containers as I didn't have the energy to put them away in order. But I have too much stuff that I have not been using and it's time to let that stuff go to Olivia or my great niece or my niece for her classroom. Olivia took a lot of pens (Inkjoy pens in a variety of colors as well as some Arteza brush pens that I took from my mom's art studio after she passed away).
