Default Greeting Cards

I'm wanting to buy this set but have a few questions as I am a hybrid newbie and not too good at cutting etc due to eyesight

How do you assemble the cards? - As a flat image or cutting each element out? How do you create folded cards or do you just print and stick on to existing blank cards?

I'd love to be able to suprise my grandma with a handmade birthday card in about 2 weeks

I'm not really an expert at this... but I have made a few cards using templates.

I tend to create the card front as a normal digital layout, print it off and stick it on cardstock. If there's one prominent element/cluster of elements I might print it off separately to attach using sticky foam pieces.

Hope this helps somehow!!

Especially with the detail in this template I would recommend clipping the papers as you would with a normal layout and then printing out the final product and adhering it to the card front. You can always take out a flower element or a ribbon and use the real thing in it's place after to attach to the card.

Here's a card I made with Julie's new kit - it's all flat, one pice of paper and I was lazy and didn't add anything 3 dimensional.

Show us what you make!!!!

Thanks Juli - I was thinking of printing it out flat and dressing it up afterwards. I'm guessing you would still shadow the piece though as you would a layout.

I'm just so sick of paying $4-$7 for a decent card these days when it isn't that hard to make my own

YES! Exactly!

Plus your recipient will love that you took the time to make it for them! Have fun!!!

I used some of Cindy's templates to make cards for Mother's Day and teacher appreciation. I wanted the recipients to be able to mail them at regular postage, so I filled in the card as I would a normal layout, printed them at home, and adhered them to the front of a folded note card (her templates are 5x7, so I did resize them to fit the note cards). Then, I added just a little something to the front. A few elements with pop dots on one, tied ribbon to another, and some stickles (glitter) to two of them. I thought they turned out really cute, and I figure I will use them for myself in the future!
